My Morad unit in black ash was 80 lbs shipping weight.
This is behind my listening position. Previously, had a mish -mash of random shelves including i-Cube stuff in Birch ply, which I really wanted to use throughout. Unfortunately, that became an impossibility with them going out of business and I have procrastinated for an age since, trying to figure out what would work. In the end, like so many others, I opted for Kallax, simply because it was easy to get the layout I wanted relatively inexpensively. The record collection is expanding steadily and I will have no qualms about boxing some of the books up, should I need to.
Cheers,
Ian
Unfortunately @JosquinDesPrez the Morad proved prohibitively expensive and impractical to have delivered to the UK, so I’ve gone with a very much cheaper option from a German Company named Glorious, but freely available in the UK. Not at all comparable in quality, but ok for now.
That looks nice. I’m glad you found something. I’m not surprised the Morad is impractical to ship abroad. When it arrived here it was 90 lbs shipping weight, and the carton was huge.
The so called listening room is one thing with the “sitting room” and kitchen. Means that music is just an every day thing like cooking (when i remember to), reading news on computer, chatting on telephone and things like that. And it works well for me …
Here’re some CDs
And here’re some vinyls which is my favorite media to listen to music
Fascinating looking speakers! Are they based on Don Keele’s CBT technology for line arrays? I’ve never heard anything designed in this way but they apparently sound superb!

Here’s Keele discussing the patent…
I remember learning about line arrays back in the 1960s when I was originally researching speaker design and building. Most commonly found in places like churches and other large echoey public places when they do the sound reinforcement/public address system properly rather than just putting in loud speakers Willy-nilly. But he those situations they are of course tailored just for voice.
Taken from the other corner of the room, where I have to squeeze in behind the ATC and crouch down fairly unathletically to take this photo ![]()
Ciao @Gianluigi
The table with Camel cigarettes and Euros change on, reminds me of my uncle’s house in Torino.
Boy, do I miss that city and the family there.
Great setup from an obvious music lover ![]()
Thanks a lot!
I keep my record collection tidy. This is most of it. Right now I have around fifty records on the speakers.
My media room is the small bedroom upstairs which I’ve almost outgrown now. Next year I will swap rooms with Mrs. G. and that will double my storage space. I also have records in two locations in the living room, which is where the system is located.
Media room.
Old Ikea unit full of records next to system.
Glorious box opposite the system.
You get a like just for that BTO album. ![]()
It must be Christmas ![]()
