Recently I have been thinking of getting more of a ‘NAIM sound’ in my system.
Took a photo two weeks ago which shows the first steps - switching out Tellurium Q Ultra Silver II to put in NAIM NAC A5. See picture from listening position.
I was also doing some other things as well (in case anyone is interested, here is the link to follow). The lengths of cable I am running with are slightly too short if one considers NAIM advice - but then I am not using NAIM amplifiers.
I was also exploring lots of music unfamiliar to me at quite high SPL. There was a lot to get through so I had to Run like Hell and also in some cases of Waiting for the Worms (of loudspeaker cable) to settle in when suddenly I had to Stop.
After three hours of blasting the system there was distortion coming from the left loudspeaker.
Following day, after letting everything cool down, all was normal.
Later, after maybe hour or two again of some difficult tracks - the distortion re appears.
Subsequent conversation with HiFi retailer (and follow up visit) has resulted in an opportunity which I would like to share with you over the next few posts as follows…
