How did they manage to get in to the theatre? Surely their tickets were scanned/checked on arrival?
I have done similar at the cinema!! 
Gawd knows. It was in the 1980s, I think, so things were “scanned” with the Mk1 eyeball.
He was never too good around the clocks changing either

I’ll see your “wrong evening at the theatre”, and raise you a “Day early at the airport” with wife and kids all excited to be jetting out for a family holiday.
Worryingly, the chap in question was my accountant at the time.
