Pics ‘From the Listening Position’

I never disliked the idea of Stand mount Speakers, just the Stands…:man_shrugging:t2::joy:
…but I’m actually really pleased with both the Aesthetic and Performance of these Acoustic Energy Reference stands. They have enabled me to comfortably adopt a pair of stand mounts without feeling I’ve compromised on the aesthetic. A bit like your Ercol table, which I do really like by the way.
We have my wife’s parents G-Plan coffee table. It was their wedding present from her mother’s father. He worked for G-Plan and built it for them himself. It’s 60 years old and she gave it to us this summer. I had it restored and it now has pride of place in our lounge.
Here’s a pic…

That’s lovely. How nice to have something with a bit of history. It was born the same year as my wife, assuming it was exactly 60 years ago.

Not quite to be fair. I think it’s 60 next May, but close enough🤷🏻‍♂️

I think you’ll find she’s 21 Nigel !

Well after a great gig the other week with @QuickSticks it’s time for a bit of nostalgia for any Numan Old Boys - I feel like I’ve gone back in time!

Looks very nice this evening!

Looks like the early days of Numan and Tubeway Army. Looks like an excellent evening.

I thought somebody might spot him! He was keen to inspect the mayhem, which extended to the upstairs room which eventually had the HiFi system installed in it.

It’s fun isn’t it.
I normally run them on Naim Green, but every once in a while it’s fun to change it up a bit.
I like that I can always match the light on the Space heater too😊

Yes you’ve inspired me to do something similar when I eventually fitout my studio (hopefully early next year).

It’s all about mood.

Some slight repositioning of the Wattbike to move one of the kc62’s to a better position and currently have Wiim pro plus and Uktra linked with Carl Craig’s sessions through both systems.

Cabin bouncing and working off a challenging few weeks.

It’s not purist but it’s a lot of fun.

Although it looks like a torture chamber from my perspective, I’m sure it’s very good for body and mind.

Enjoy.

It’s an absolute escape Graeme.

I’ve always enjoyed mixing music with weights etc.

Plus my poor wife has been largely incapacitated for last 9 weeks with a mystery knee issue and it’s great to have the cabin with the gear in as she can’t drive and get to her normal gym. She is out there right now, so it provides an escape for all here.

I’ve never had a gym membership, mostly because I’ve had hifi and own weights/equipment since about 12 years old and prefer it that way.

And when not using the gym it’s a fantastic place to turn the wick up and enjoy the tunes without bothering anyone else.

We have light!! Thanks to those who gave advice a little while ago, and especially to @crispyduck who suggested this floor lamp. It’s lovely.

Thats nice! Do you have a pic of the base? And what’s the name /brand of the lamp ? Thanks

It’s a Hatton 3 floor lamp, made by Original BTC. They are handmade to order, with the shades produced in Staffordshire using traditional methods.

Here is the whole thing. Forgive the blotchy wall, I’m awaiting a new can of paint. We also need to hang a painting, but the wall comes first.
