I stood still for some minutes watching. It was really mesmerising.

Thank goodness

Sitting off centre where the reading light is good for these old eyes. Listening to Naim Jazz radio in the background - some glorious Sons of Kemet with deeeeeep Oren Marshall tuba solo just now.

Nearly bought a copy of that one myself KR.
I really like some of his work. My dealer offered me one of his originals, but it was obscenely expensive :face_with_peeking_eye:

This was from a week ago, Scala hosting Lo Moon. Only took this one picture before the band came on as after that it was just sublime and enjoyed the music in the moment.

Each time I’ve seen them I’m super impressed with their consistency to sound so faithful to their studio albums, stunningly good vocal performances and venue was buzzing.

For anyone who hasn’t heard their stuff would encourage a dip into their album from earlier this year, I Wish You More Than Luck, maybe start with When the kids are gone for a sample of what they are like.

Nice pic :+1:

Lo Moon are a brilliant band
Got all three albums, which are played regularly here.

Their first album “Lo Moon” (2018), particularly track 2 : Loveless

Hey R, hope all is well, yeah that’s how I found them, stumbled over the debut album and loved it with its nod to Talk Talk feel, second album not played that much, but I should probably give it more attention and the latest one is played alot. They really bring the energy when live and very generous with their time, certainly on the first time seeing them were totally happy mixing with the crowd post their set.

All the best, Adam

So many things to say about Lo Moon…
Yeah. Several influences, including Talk Talk.

Did you see that Matt Lowell met Paul Buchanan in Glasgow recently ? Matt is a self confessed fan of The Blue Nile. ( See IG account : @lomoon ).

I’m a bit stupid - for the bands that we really like - sign up for emails and follow on social channels, etc. That way, you get news and updates, etc

We first saw them touring with their debut album, as a support act for London Grammar, maybe [ edit 2017 ]. Instantly fell in love what they do.

Like you say, they are pitch perfect and highly professional live.
Under rated - in my opinion - yes, the uk live dates are still modest affairs and the band always spend time connecting with their audience. Really nice folk, clearly trying hard to make it in the UK.

Couldn’t wish them more luck ….

Happy listening

Edit : Hey @Adam1 , just checked my dates. It was October 2017 saw LG + LM.
Wow, where did those years go :flushed:
Okay, now I’ve checked that, realise that LM were playing album material in advance of its release. So, must have followed them and bought their debut album a few months later - Feb 2018 - once it was available. Nice that we both have a first pressing

You just made me realise that is exactly the same place I heard them, supporting LG and then instantly bought their album when it came out. Completely forgot that.

Didn’t know about the Blue Nile link, will have to check that out.

One thing I do know is they are possibly the most reliable recommendation of a band I’ve ever made to people who haven’t heard them.

Yeah that’s the timeframe I remember, plus also waiting for the album to come out as I’m pretty sure I was off to California the day after LG with work and that fits that timeframe. I ended up buying two, the IT geek in me always needs to have a failover…

Had tickets for their Leeds show but a bout of novovirus put paid to my attendance unfortunately.

That’s a shame, some of our work colleagues messed up their schedules and couldn’t make the Scala gig as in wrong countries,

Yep was just bad luck…liked their latest album more than the second so was looking forward to it… saw them when they supported War on Drugs a few years ago, roll on next time

@Adam1 and @ratrat
Any band sounding like The Blue Nile and Talk Talk have got my full attention. Not come across Lo Moon before and have just given Loveless a listen. Very enjoyable - so thanks for that - I’ll give their albums a go later this evening.

Enjoy! Their latest album is very very good. Live they are excellent.

Just on an off chance and because I was at their last ever concert, and it was truely epic, if you also haven’t come across Wild Beasts then give them a go as well. Start with Present Tense album.

Not saying they are the same as Lo Moon but hold appeal if you like Lo Moon.
