FYI, those are the original Quad ESLs, rather than their replacement, the ESL63s.

I seem to recall it said the JV was a fan of the originals, but not the '63s?

Yes it was the 1957 model but Quad just called them ESL. Personally I like the look and sound of the ESL63 but not the look of the original 57, which I have never had the chance to listen to properly.
