Cold…
Yeah it is a bit parky down here too.
Come on the Arsenal back to five points clear.
To be fair Bob, it wasn’t a very inspiring performance but, as always, it is the 3 points that matter
It was awful Graeme we where lacklustre and limp and they lacked any ambition and up until they conceded where content to stick 11 players in their own box and waste time.
Things picked up a bit after the first own goal but not by much, Gabriel Jesus was a bright spark when he came on again at the end lets hope he remains in good health as were going to need him.
Wolves could take more hope from the match than Arsenal. I watched some of it and decided a repeat of Midsomer Murders was a better option
I thought Wolves where awful sticking all of your players inside your own penalty area for the vast majority of the match and hoping for a quick break is the go to tactic for many teams who come to the Emirates. With only two points on the board a week before Christmas and deep into relegation territory Wolves would be better served by just having a go at teams they have a couple of decent strikers and are strong defensively better to go out swinging.
Keeping the ball out of play for as long as was lawfully allowed by a very lenient referee thankfully backfired on Wolves as we got the winner in the 97th minute it was another lucky goal in a game to forget for Arsenal but I’d rather play badly and win than play well and loose as we did against Liverpool and Villa.
This Christmas period is just about points on the board if we scrape 1-0 and play badly I’ll take that all day long. We have Gabriel and Kai Havertz coming back early January hopefully with a virtually fully fit squad we can head into the second half of the season in good shape.
An Arsenal win which managed to be godawful for FFL players with 3 Arsenal players tells you much.
We all know that Erling Haaland scored his 100th Premier League goal recently in just his 112th league appearance, smashing Shearer’s record.
Well done to Bunny Shaw for Man City Women for also becoming a Centurion, scoring her 100th club goal in all competitions in just 120 appearances. She did it in style too, bagging four goals against Aston Villa today.
A fairly uninspiring game at Brentford today, but The Mighty Whites did at least manage to come away with a point, and DCL scored for the fourth game in a row, which can’t be bad.
Roll on Crystal Palace at Elland Road next Saturday.
M.O.T.
In a nutshell we were the better team BUT we can’t defend for a full 90 minutes. Until we can we will struggle. DCL proving to be the CF we always hoped he would be & once was. A good point in London.
Bring back Martin O’Neil!!
I thought Leeds deserved their point this afternoon. Being 3 points clear of the drop-zone after 16 games is, I suspect, something most Leeds fans would have taken at the start of the season. Still a long way to go of course but I think Hammers fans will be fretting more than Leeds fans.
Blood & guts up at the Stadium of Light a really compelling match where both teams and both managers got the assignment unlike the totally one sided North London Derby a few weeks back.
I was at Old Trafford last night for the 4-4 with Bournemouth. The first half was wonderful - definitely the best we have played for years. Mason Mount looked like he was on steroids and it was credit to Bournemouth that we didn’t swamp them.
Playing out from the defence looked very confident with a 19 and a 20 year old playing central defence. Great ball control and ambition but oh my they couldn’t stop players running at them at all. Maybe that was a fault further up the pitch but it did make for an entertaining game. Still, much better than some of the dross we had to put up with last season.
Yes. Literal blood from Granit Xhaka. Was a good one.
Yes, a great match to watch from the comfort of a centrally heated house
Looks like the BBC is going to give a Lifetime Achievement Award to Monsieur Henry during the Sports Personality of the Year Awards.
Hope they mention this achievement……
As they say, cheats prosper.
BBC Gooners. ![]()
I think that incident occurred while he was playing for France.
Anyway, Henry was a wonderful footballer.
Yes and stopped the Irish qualifying. France went through because of it.
A horrid cheat.
And a Gooner legend……
