Hi , yes working again, thanks to all involved for their help

Hi Gents,

Qobuz have just fixed the domain secure certificate issue. All is working again. See attached image of me getting a dose of Live Def Leppard at 24/48kHz. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Apologies for the inconvenience for the downtime - it was out of our control as we were a victim of applying modern day security practices and the product rejecting the compromised security situation.

On a side note, I know various of you are not happy with the Naim apps. History has shown that often this is down to a mix of Android version / operating settings & networking situations that stirs up problems Naturally we want the apps to work as smoothly as possible. If you feel we can do better and are willing to do some diagnostics steps for our app teams, then do contact me via email at: steve.harris(at)naimaudio.com.

With regards

Steve Harris
Software Director
Naim Audio Ltd.

Awesome, thank you very much! Qobuz working over here

Many thanks for your support Steve.

You have saved the rest of my long weekend as this interruption has shown to me that I am severely addicted to the Naim sound, particularly when played through Qobuz HiRes.

Thanks Steve for keeping us up to date👍

Thank you indeed Steve for fixing this with Qobuz reasonably quickly over the Pentecost weekend and for your invitation to submit suggestions.
I would love to have access to the original booklets and to the list of awards as offered by Qobuz with their own app.

I too have worked in IT for almost 35 years and if you think this is the worst piece of software you have seen you’re either very lucky or fibbing, it doesn’t even come close to that dubious honour in my experience.
Also, the app crashing twice an hour is not normal. I had a few problems to begin with using my recently acquired ND5XS2 but once I cleaned up my network the problems have gone away. Maybe you should try working with Naim support to try to get to the root of the problem?

Thank you for all the information and your help.
I very happy it works again. This forum has been very helpful. It was very reassuring to see that the very propably cause was quickly identified and later with involved party fixed.

All working fine here with me (Uniti Star), and I for one am enjoying the Naim app immensely.

Thanks Steve . Great work and communication.
Plus Kudos for being a fellow Leppard fan! :ok_hand:

As I dont have a streamer…but thinking about it…and really not knowing too much about this…why do people keep using Qobuz if its rubbish? Would not Spotify achieve the same thing?

No. Spotify tops out at 320kbps MP3, Qobuz goes up to 24/192 FLAC. Qobuz works great with native integration in the Naim app.

Who thinks Qobuz is rubbish, it’s the best streaming platform.

I think that you got it wrong.

Qobuz is far superior in regards to the sound quality compared to Spotify.

It works flawlessly through the Naim app under normal circumstances.

There was a licensing issue last weekend which interrupted the streaming temporarily but was resolved quite rapidly by Naim support.

I used Spotify before I tried Tidal but once I listened to Qobuz HiRes there is no other option for me in regards to streaming.

“As I dont have a streamer…but thinking about it…and really not knowing too much about this…why do people keep using Qobuz if its rubbish?”

…simply because Qobuz is not rubbish. They all offer free trials, why not do a comparison. I have tried all three. I choose Tidal over Spotify and stuck with it for 2 1/2 years. When Qobuz became available in February I took the 1 month free trial and compared against Tidal. On the 30th day I cancelled my Tidal Hi-Fi subscription and ordered the Qobuz subscription which offers HiRes files and it sounded better. Now that is my ears, my system, in my room and JMHO and YMMV.

The problem with Qobuz lasted a few days due to a network certificate expiring. All has been well since the issue was resolved on the Qobuz server end.

This was a one-off glitch that caused a reasonably short lived failure. Not ideal, but given the superior sound quality of Qobuz it would take a lot more than that to put me off.
