Qobuz Subscription

Sorry for another topic on Qobuz, but I’ve just subscribed to the ‘studio’ version on my laptop, but will I be able to listen on my NDX2 when I get it up and running tomorrow? I’m not familiar with streaming from Qobuz etc. I presume I’ll be able to put my login details into the Naim App or the NDX?

Thanks..

Yes your subscription follows you, phone, laptop, streamer, CarPlay, whatever you are listening on.

I have been using Qobuz with my NDX2 since it was introduced here in the US. I have not touched in in a long time but you select Qobuz in the Services & Accounts menu and sign in with your password is what I remember. From that point forward you just click on the Qobuz icon to connect using iPad or iPhone in my case.

Or use Qobuz Connect - the Qobuz app direct to your streamer!

yep. I don’t even bother going through the Naim app anymore

I’m not sure how to do that..

Qobuz Connect on your PC. Will give order to your Ndx2 to stream. But some prefer the Naim app.

Within the qobuz app (on pc/mac/tablet/phone), look for a little icon that looks like a speaker. It’s near where the current track is shown.

Click that icon and it will show a list of devices you can play qobuz through, one of which should be your ndx2.

The qobuz app is better for search and discovery, but anything you add to your favourites will also be available in the naim app if you login to Qobuz via the services & accounts section.

Thanks for your help.

So when using Qobuz connect on my phone, is it streaming from the phone itself?

No, the phone tells the streamer what to play, and the streamer connects to the service and initiates the stream.

There ARE systems that stream to your phone and then forward it to your music player (Eg Google cast, Bluetooth), but this isn’t one of them.

You can even hand over control to the Naim app and switch off the phone without interrupting the music.

Google Cast does not stream to your phone (unless they changed it recently). Apple AirPlay does, however.

I just looked it up and you’re correct. I think I just made an assumption based on the name. Thanks for the knowledge!

Does anyone think it needs an overhaul?

I think the app is ok but QoBuz connect is just easier

Black or White background now but I’m sure there were more colours?

I use it most of the time. Most of my listening is from my DLNA server.

I’m up for Qobuz renewal. Disappointed to see no Black Friday deals for the UK (unless someone knows different). I might have to play. full price for the first time in 5 years.

I received a 20% off deal for digital gift cards. You can treat yourself too.

I wish the Qobuz app had a volume adjustment on the now playing screen without having to select the output setting.
