Class 37, 97301 ex 37100 arriving for storage and long term rebuild, good job they didn’t drop it…

Another one saved! It also makes me happy that some 37s are still out working on the mainline at 60+ years old when so many BR locomotives got the chop way too early.

Where this was delivered today, there is another 37 and 2 class 60’s, you don’t realize that the class 59’s are approaching 40 years in service.

Hopefully in the next couple of days I will have a ride down and take some photo’s, the photo’s above are from the owner of the site.

I love the transporters too. I saw one a couple of days ago on the A605 and wondered at the time if he was on his way to collect a loco.

Spotted this in a local antique shop. Not sure about its authenticity (GW - no R?) but still looks good, I think.

The loco is a GWR County 1000 class. The livery is almost correct for 1945, the year they were introduced but it should be plain green without the lining.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge, PP. I did suspect that an answer would appear. It’s a very educational forum, and not just about hi-fi!

Nice model though. How much did they want for it?

There was no price on it and I couldn’t find the courage to find out. It looked expensive.

Can you give an estimate of size please?

Trying to find more info for you.

Thanks
