Looks exactly as my Win/Linux
Wow mine looks nothing like that when opening on my iPad. I get no bands or flashes of whiteā¦
Ipad mini and nothing like that happens for me.
I have that on my iPad and iPhone, too.
As I am very new to Roon (week 3), I thought it is normal.
(Was the same at my first roon days where I had 1.7 installed.)
This happens to my iPad Pro when Roon reconnects presumably to Core.
Core is NUC with 16Gb memory.
I think it has always happened and not a 1.8 āfeatureā
Well captured @tomfoolery

Never had anything like that on any remote I have used. Thatās not how it should be. I would post a support ticket over on Roon support forum.
Perhaps it is a āfeatureā of the NUC.
I couldnāt put up with that. I use Roon Core on an iMac.
There are posts and at least one thread on the Roon forum, āiOS Dark Theme Flashes White on App Switchingā
Doubtful how the core would affect the display on an iPad.
I have Roon core on a NUC and not happening for me.
Ok, then I am clueless, as not happening on my iPadā¦ and from the video looks like it it could be client / server communication related.
If the client UI flashes due to a communication issue itās surely still an issue in the client
Could be due to the number of apps open in the background when starting Roon.
My Roon core is a Mac mini i5 running Big Sur.
But the fact it happens to me on both iPad and iPhone, whereas others with iOS devices donāt experience it suggests itās a complex issue. Yay!
Same here!
Iām running Roon Rock on an 8i5 NUC - not happening on my iPad Air.
I am wondering if the reason is my mesh wifi network.
I donāt get that reasoning. A clientās UI has to deal with whatever communication issues without flashing.
There is a short thread on Roon forum about this.

Mmmm! Just managed to create the issue by opening another app (Safari) (keeping Roon open), switching to it and doing something in that app then switching back to Roon. Iām not going to worry about it though.
Iām guessing its something to do with memory or system process / resource allocation.
