Sale time?

Just heard from my trusty US dealer that Naim/Focal are having a 20% off sale lasting a week towards the end of March (I forgot the dates, but I believe starting around the 20th). Not sure if it’s just US or global - but definitely worth checking into if you’re about to place an order. Hope I’m not breaking a forum rule here :grimacing:

Your post has not dissolved away into the ether as if it had never been, which probably means it hasn’t broken any major rules.

This is true. My dealer called today to inform me my Gaias isolation feet were in and then said, oh and by the way, I just got a note from Naim saying……
So I’m guessing there’s some truth to it.

I don’t recall Naim ever having a sale before. Am I forgetting something?

My friends in the retail industry here in the USA tell me sales are down significantly. In addition I’m seeing Classic electronics being discounted as they are about to be discontinued. The North American distributor must sitting on inventory they need to move out before more New Classic models are announced. Great deal for anyone looking to upgrade.

FYI the North American Distributor is Focal Naim America https://www.focalnaimamerica.com
I think that the prices of Naim in the US are maybe a bit much?
Keeping in mind that Focal Naim America is the distributor there is no other middleman, same as the UK. I wonder if Focal Naim America pay the same cost as Naim UK , excepting for shipping costs?

The weak Pound must have helped the importers profit considerably over the last year or so. Perhaps the sale is their way of adjusting for this if sales are slow, and probably clearing out some slow moving stock. Of course, for Classic stock it’s all about to become end-of-line as and when New Classic replacements arrive, so some of the old boxes will take more effort than others to shift.

There are regional “middle men” who distribute to dealers here in the USA.

Such as whom? Not The Sound Organization or Pluralson , I’m also in the US

Focal/Naim North America is actually in Canada with a shipping service in New York (mostly for service/warranty convenience). Don’t know if there is any other “middleman” between FN/NA and the NA dealerships(?)

I know from experience that Focal/Naim NA has regional managers, but that’s not quite the same as an extra level of distribution. Anther factor here, though, is that U.K. prices include the hefty VAT, but US prices do not include local sales taxes.

Sounds familiar.

In my region (Northwest) Naim is distributed by a company called Northmar.

Thanks Chris, I didn’t know that. My experience was during the Plurison era, but evidently things have changed.
