Yes, they did make an 1100. I think it was the ‘G’ model which meant it was shaft drive. The 1000 also came as chain or shaft drive, depending on where in the world you lived, that also applied to the 750 too.

Thanks, I didn’t realise that they did a shaft drive.

Yes, it was a superb system.

What were the chances?? You don’t see many bikes like mine but look what was directly behind me on the Santander ferry last year.

Thank you, found it along with the kettle. :+1:

Looking at the Suzuki photo gallery made me realise I got the bike in 76. One year earlier than the photo, my mate took that photo outside his house.

My current street ride. 1250R HP. A great modern bike with decent aesthetics and a joy to ride. It’s tough to beat boxer torque for me.

Torque monster! Nice man. I must say it takes a lot of discipline to stay within the law. :grimacing:

Last month I visited Southward car museum just out of Wellington New Zealand, not only an absolutely stunning car museum but also motorbikes! here’s something that may be of interest.

I cant find any photos of my old 950 Supermoto that aren’t outside my front door but here’s one of a mint version I spotted in Sicily a couple of years ago. It would be the perfect bike for that island for sure. I had it for 8 years and it was also a brilliant bike for around London.

Just fitted some new knee armour to my jeans, it’s called D30 diablo. It’s very thin and comfortable but achieves level 2.

Ktm are just nuts, my 1290 GT has a “Supermoto” setting for the ABS (and I didn’t even have to pay to unlock it!) which I take means power slides, burn outs and the like. @ $539 to replace the continental sport attack 4 not for me. Its has just over 4,000 kilometres and I must say there is not a hell of a lot of tread left anyway.

This was my pride and joy about 40 years ago - Suzuki 550GT.
How I managed not to kill myself on it is still a mystery

I have Metzeler Tourance Next 2 on mine which are a 90-10 tyre. They are unbelievable tyres in all conditions. By all accounts their Roadtec SE2 is next level as well and I’m sure I saw a launch video with a 1290 GT. Longevity ‘should’ be better… I think I might fit the Roadtec next time as they weren’t available in a 19 front previously.

The lady who lives next door has just bought one of these and only just passed her test. Nice looking bike.
