Looks like a Honda engine in a featherbed frame?

Honda CB750 in a Rickman rolling chassis.

‘The sort of thing I rode when 20. A quite fast Dresda Kawasaki 900.”

Rickman Honda CR750. Has a CB 750 from around 1975. Very flash back in the day.
Yes, I did cheat, but would know considering at my tender age :winking_face_with_tongue:

Had about 10 Motocross bikes when I raced back in the 80’s but also a few street bikes. Fastest one was a Yamaha RZ500 which was a 4 cylinder 2-stoke and slowest one was a Yamaha YSR80 which I used to store in my apartment. Wouldn’t mind riding nowadays but have been informed by someone who knows better that my bike days are behind me.

You would be sitting on a gold if you still had that RZ! I remember when I was sixteen a school friend of mine had a RZ250 which would eat my Honda VT250 F
As far as looks, the newer XSR 900 GP squeals my wheels these days given the similar retro look.

That GP looks sweet and yep, wish I still had the RZ.
Bought it for $2500 Can. And sold it for the same.
Think they go for more than $12,000 nowadays in these parts at least.

I have this Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer booked in for a test run next Saturday for a couple of hours. The shaft-drive really appeals to me as well as a bit of green lane riding. If all goes ok i may well put a deposit down.

Nice ride over to Akaroa from Christchurch NZ today with a few like minded mates.
A most excellent ride.
Over on the left is very tidy Kawazaki Z900
With a very competent aftermarket exhaust system, it’s all one can hear even with plugs in.
I call it “snap crackle and pop” or Rice Bubbles! The owner is only 70 years old!

Very nice! I know that route and Akaroa is just beautiful. I have a very good friend in Christchurch, actually lives out near Cust now.

Enjoy.

How did it go?

My favorite and fastest single cylinder four stroke I owned. Miss that bike.

Just nuts of a brand of bike. My GT‘s pretty much is a dirt bike for the road like I say just nuts. Yesterday the thing was trying to lift the front wheel at 150 km an hour while revving through 6000 rpm in fourth gear. Obviously this part of the road was private.
Btw i’m not going to purchase the wheelie package. I prefer the electronics to keep my front wheel down

Hi Pete,
I’ve only met one English person in Cust and he’s the owner of the local pub (funny that). I often drive through in my work vehicle. I’ve always thought it would be a nice place to live, particularly with the view looking over the valley just the wind at certain times of the year has put me off.
Yes, we’re very lucky for riding around Christchurch. Kaikōura is a great day trip, Methven through the Rakaia Gorge to the Blue Pub for a pie and pint lunch is another of my favourites—just to name a few.

Naim audio, motorcycles… what more could a boy ask for?

OK, a lottery win would be nice…

Booked in for this coming Saturday. I’m told by many riders that the 900 is the better bike, which i already have, i shall soon find out in due course.

I had the upper protection bars and Barbusters fitted recently and i have to say that she feels all the better for it.

I had a Trident 660 for a little over year and did over 10k miles on it. Great bike.

I might have been that Englishman in Cust😂. My fiend is a Kiwi, I used to work with him in London and have visited him a couple of times.

You’re certainly spoilt for choice down there and would love to back to Kaikoura one day.
