20cm is small, even for the rather wonderful Xplorers. They are more flexible than most, but some would say 30cm would be better. IMHO, it depends on the room, what the wall is made of, how loud you play and more. You probably want more than cm from sidewalls too - will that work?
Try before you buy?
Definitely on the to-listen list. Their small form factor is likely to sit well with the other half…
Whatever I buy will be backing on to a solid ‘wet’ wall with plenty of space laterally.

Nope, never did. You just have to teach them and explain that it breaks if they do. To be fair i had the grills on until my son was around 3 or 4.
When other kids are visiting i put the grills back on though.

Those SX3s are mine I think MikaelP quoted my first post when he posted the lovely photo of what look like Ultimatum XLSes. And yes, I like the SX3s very much! (though would love to hear a pair of XLSes)
