Yeah… I’ve seen that, actually. Think majik is then meant to be 80% of kore… So yeah, incremental… so maybe the wait will be a more satisfying jump when it’s done.
Saying that, I’m probably going to have to wait a little longer for chassis and the Urika upgrades, as I’ve just made an impromptu move to 250dr I wasn’t planning on until I came onto the forum!
Prior to getting my pre-loved Kore, I had the Cirkus Steel sub-chassis. I considered getting the Magik Aluminium sub-chassis, but was advised that it was not worth it - and to wait to get a Kore. So I did…
Yeah, that’s my understanding too @Dan_M but the more I think about it, the more I’d probably be happy to drill the keel until I upgraded arm. Definitely can’t afford to do them at the same time, but I guess if I did go keel, the best available platform is ready for when I do swap arms. Obviously it would be used, regardless. New price is just bonkers!
That’s the second time you use this in a reply and I’m not sure how to interpret that in a discussion.
In my opinion they are LP12 specialists indeed, and will try to help you as best as they can with configurations (most of) their customers enjoy within possibilities (only) they are able to offer .
But beyond that in the end it is still one’s own money decided by oneself to be spent on the exact things one likes best after hearing them, so there’s that also.
@daddycool@Storm1 - I am a confirmed Cymbiosis customer, which no plan to change. Its very useful having such a good dealer relatively close by.
My comment is (intended to be) very much tongue in cheek…
I originally made it further up the Thread, where it was being suggested that the Kore was somehow ‘wrong’ with an Ittok. Yet that was exactly what Cymbiosis recommended to me. And which I duly purchased.
I know from getting ‘my’ Kore, that they come with a part drilled, pilot hole, for the earlier Ittok arm rest. Mine was drilled thru, to take the Arm Rest, during its installation in my LP12, by Cymbiosis.
Yeah, I believe it is @IanRobertM. I could be wrong, but pretty sure it has the same location on the underside of the keel for the ittok rest. I’m not saying that the ittok is my end game by any stretch, but if it works on the keel until I save again for a better arm… it’s something to ponder as and when I decide to make the jump up.
Think I’m going to try and do one jump at a time now (once a year, two if I’m lucky), but make each one really worthwhile.
I knew I had seen them on Aro as well as Ekos. I also thought at Keel level that an Ittok or Akito wasn’t quite good enough. So are you saying that Akito and Ittok all fit the Keel?
They are not the only LP12 dealer you know. There are lots of dealers who are very good who sell on ebay. I got my Ekos 2 from LP12 bits, who did a good trade in on my Akito and got a nice grey T kable as well. Then all fitted locally at Audio T Brighton.
If you’re buying from a private seller an old LP12 then there is some risk. If you’re buying from a dealer on ebay shouldn’t be any problems. Up to you but plenty of good stuff out there. It’s not all rubbish!
Hi Dan
Akito does fit but can’t use the queuing device.
Ittok later ones do but early ones have a thinner pillar and can’t be used.
On a gamble there aren’t an abundant number of thin pillar ones doing the rounds.
I do believe but for an email that Linn did offer Kore for Linn,Rega and Aro.
