A plinth @Dan_M ?

There are many beautiful LP12 plinths out there (Simon Price?) and much to be said for the original look. However, to my old ears, there is only one that sounds better than the original…

I like the plinth I have in many ways. It also goes well with mix of Ash and Maple Naim shelves.

It will require a rebuild as well. Will leave it for now as very happy with LP12. Small changes with lid and outer platter make it look like new.

Try Klimax Radikal 2 @NickofWimbledon and Urika I.

Should give significant uplift. When you’re ready that is.

These things take time and money!

I have done so so much to my LP12 and system. I feel like I need a break before and if I make any changes.

I like the idea of keeping it all standard. However the Simon Price plinths are Linn spec and look rather nice. But then it becomes a mod. Not sure at moment if I want that.

The Simon Price plinths are pretty sensational Dan, beautifully made

Although I live in Sydney I have purchased 2 of them through Peter Swain and my Linn/Naim dealer here ( Peter and Harry know each other very well ) has installed each from time to time.

I have a traditional walnut ( with the cut outs) and a Birds Eye maple - love them both , currently with the walnut installed

Fabulous system Dan. If you get the chance to audition Chord SarumT or Music RCA to DIN interconnect from Urika to 552 I think you might be delighted. The final (important) flourish?

I was lucky to be offered an ex demo RCA to DIN Sarum T to run from NDX2 to 282 Sensational uplift in all aspects of SQ compared to std interconnects.

But wait there’s one more

LP12 40th anniversary plinth is made from Highland Park whisky barrel - nobly dark bits and all , very solid and heavy. In another location

They are all lovely. I didn’t realise you had 3 LP12s :flushed:

Oh I can almost smell the :tumbler_glass: whisky…

Those are wonderful

No I don’t Mike - the 2 first pics I occasionally get Harry to change the plinth - can’t make up my mind ha

Maybe I should get another LP12 - in fact a few years I did have a third one but I thought it was overkill :rofl::rofl:

The 40th anniversary plinth stays where it is mate

The LP12 walnut looks pretty cool with the Nait 50, it’s a full spec with Superline/ SCDR , the Nait 50 sounds wonderful with it

The power supply is the Armageddon , it’s a good match with the ARO tonearm , but sometimes I think maybe I should get the Lingo 4, maybe it might be better or just different

I concur. Here’s my Simon Price in high gloss Indian rosewood.

When I was looking to upgrade my phono stage from the Cyrus Phono Signature and PSXR2 power supply a few years back I spent >3 months auditioning the various options knowing it would be my last phono stage upgrade.

I evaluated Urika 1 as well as Stageline, Superline, Roksan RPP and finally Rega Aura. Had it not been for the Aura I would have gone with Urika 1.

But the Aura smoked them all and I’ve never looked back. It does a fabulous job with my Klimax Radikal 2 & Ekstatik. Well worth being included on any audition list imho.

Fantastic plinth @Toon :+1:

A black tonearm and platter would be an absolute killer (only regarded from an optical view)

I get overwhelmed every time when I see your plinth Toon

It’s the best ever for sure that I’ve ever seen on this forum

I think the wood is now an endangered species , I asked Peter Swain if possible to get one here to Sydney , but alas not so
