It just looks the part with the Adikt though and though technically the VM750 is the better cart you might lose some of the inherent musicality the Adikt is well regarded for.
Congrats.
That’s such a great start point.
BTW love that Getz / Gilberto album
Hope you’re enjoying playing records.
I’ve recently gone from Adikt to a Hana SH (on an Akito 3b) and would recommend it - although as you need phono boards for your 82 then getting a pair of the 523 MC ones would let you use the Hana SL instead
Thanks. I am a dedicated high quality MM user, and especially AT, so not intending to go MC on either of my decks
Looks great, and so is the Skynyrd album.
Thanks - yeah possibly. I do like the Adikt and have no urgent rush to change it at all.
Thanks - it’s a great TT that needs really only mild tweaks (well, as financially mild as Linn gets )
You could look at Dynavector…
Potentially - but I LOVE the new AT MM’s - they are superb and sound double their price.
If you’ve only just got it, tinkering and tweaking is so tempting.
Lots of forum members, including myself, would suggest living with it for a while. Get used to what it does and how it sounds. Before succumbing to temptations. Time is on your side. Enjoy.
I’ve always like the curvaceous shape of the Adikt. It’s a super looking cartridge, (in a HiFi segment of bland utilitarian design thinking).
Like you, I have both Rega and Linn. They do things differently. Love them both
In time, the Karousel is a great upgrade
I have been using DV since just before I bought my LP12, in 1981.
I had my first one on my Rega Planar 2 - and it was then transferred to my LP12.
Absolutely no rush for anything.
I am taking it to my dealer in April for Karousel and service, by which time it will have had many hours under its belt (I do a lot of listening on vinyl, CD or streaming between work and family) - at the moment I am 100+ albums a month.
Is that Tom?
Yes, mr. Tom Waits and the megaphone, well spotted!
Let’s hope the LP12 has not been drinking
The Linn dealer looked sober, fortunately
Love those flutes
Yes, it’s funny…my beloved LP12 just looks like my Linn again. The plain plinth just never felt like it was.
