Do the magnets impair fidelity I wonder?

I think in comparison to the gauss level of the magnets in my Atc drive units , there will be no effect
Not if they are designed to be there.
Indeed the ATC motors have monster magnets compared to the grille magnets. By observation of my PMC twenty/21 grille magnets, they are much more effective than those in the ATCs, does that mean that PMCs would be affected more, perhaps?
Some speakers, Heybrook HB2s included, suffer from a different magnet issue, the mass of the bass driver magnet is such that over time it is able to deform the bass speaker frame ‘spider’.
I managed to knock the grilles off my dealers SCM40s by lightly brushing past them. Not that I’d have wanted to keep those awful looking grilles if I had bought them.
The grilles on my old Kudos X2s by comparison needed a really firm tug to get them off, so it shows that magnets can work if done properly.
I think Atc are unique in using a heavy metal grill. My previous dynaudio evokes had decent magnets and light mdf grills
You mean the bars joinng hi and low banana sockets?
My previous PMC Fact 3s had grilles made from fabric stretched over a wooden framework which was attached magnetically to the speaker. But they were always slipping. To make things worse, PMC used little disc magnets which were glued into recesses in the frame, but they were always coming unstuck and disappearing under furniture. They didn’t grip particularly well either. Definitely the worst grilles I’ve had.

Yes
@anon4489532 I did it, logos removed. I swear it even sounds better now. I definitely prefer them without more understated.
They look lovely. It’s strange how making such a tiny change can make the speakers look quite different.
Definitely looks better; dare i say, classier?
I would say so.

Off topic so apologies.
Looking at picture couldn’t help but wonder - do you prefer room acoustics curtains open or closed?
Very classy mod.
Thanks,
I can’t say I notice a big difference, perhaps a little warmer when closed We did recently change the curtains and these are much thicker and it did make the bottom end a little nicer.
Almost an unintentional ‘Oooh matron’ moment.

They look good debadged. Less is certainly more.
Thanks.
I asked as I’ve got some heavy crushed velvet curtains.
When closed I experience the reverse impact with mid to high reverbs being reduced which to my tastes improves SQ so different strokes for folks.
