First time I see the Rega Naiad on a show. It’s on Hong Kong 2022 av show.
I would have thought the masking tape around the arm may somewhat hamper ultimate performance.
Don’t care how good it sounds, it looks awful: Bony. Like a starved frog.
What is the masking tape? You talk about the carbon arm tube?
I prefer the P10 look
Look closely near the mounting/bearing end.
Nope. Not a fan of skeletal, spaceship or oil rig TT’s.
If that’s the current price, it’s £30k in British pounds. Who in their freaking right mind would pay that much for something is as hideous as that?
It may be the picture. Here a closer look. No masking tape.
People pay more than that for much uglier TT’s. I don’t think it looks 30k worth, but it doesn’t offend like those huge oil rigs.
Sorry FR. Your sense of humor has, for once, failed you here.
Your first picture clearly shows the masking tape which was obviously applied to prevent damage to the arm whilst in transit. I thought I was making a witty comment on this which either: -
1 Wasn’t as funny as I thought it was, or
2 Unusually, you failed to see the joke…
Sad I couldn’t see the joke. However, through my IPad, I couldn’t see any tape on the arm. So anyway it was impossible for me to understand further. Next time I hope
Here we go again. The old “masking tape” debate.
I bought the NAP250DR when I had the larger T+A speakers Criterion S 2100 CLT. I found the difference clear. Now with my Audio Physics I heard today without NAP and it’s a marginal difference and I can’t say what I think is better. I’ll hear it for a few days now without NAP.
Yesterday I also compared the Nova with Powerline on the power strip HMS Enigma MK2 and directly on the wall socket. The HMS strip clearly draws a deeper space.
Love that vintage McIntosh tuner. The TT’s not bad either
Nice setup, love those Archetype racks, great value in them. What do you run through the Bifrost?
My desktop computer goes through the Bifrost. I could have used one of the inputs on the Auralic but it was much simpler from a Naim remote-control standpoint to use the Bifrost (which I already owned) in the AV input. The rack sits behind my desk and the speakers (Focal 926) are in front, so it gives my computer amazing sound.
Did you ever compare the Altair G1 to the Bifrost?
I recently completed the restoration of a vintage Well Tempered Classic turntable.
A piece of audio equipment I lusted for (but could not afford) in my youth.
The Audiophile Gods were smiling on me the day this discarded turntable was gifted to me.
