That one’s much nicer. I like wood plinths. They have a certain je ne sais pas, non? Looks classy :slight_smile:

I like too. Classy, yes.
( je ne sais quoi)

Thanks. Knew I’d get it wrong!

Which cartridge are you thinking for the P10?

I have already the Lyra Delos. Works very good on the Rb 2000.
Maybe one day the Kleos…

Here is my VPI Classic 1 with a Koetsu Black Goldline. Later this year it will sit on a proper wall shelf.

…I feel as if I should add a note of caution here…my findings only, but…
When I had a P9 RB1000 DV XX2-2 I initially used it with a 2mm spacer…when I tried the same setup without the spacer, it was much better.
Personally, I think that using a P10 without using an apheta 3 would loose out on:
Their co-development;
3 point cartridge fixing;
Rigidity at the arm pillar end if a spacer is used…and beware tightening onto the ceramic base.
I think much would be lost.

Does it need the arm shimmed or spacers in the headshell?

Another happy P9 user here, for my eyes one of the most beautiful and elegant turntables ever made.

The Rega spacers are used at the arm pillar end…but rega advise against their use, claiming that the overall effect is a negative one…in my case, confirmed by my own listening.

What you’re seeing on the top of the plinth aren’t nails, they’re rubber stops to prevent the turntable lid from marking the plinth when it’s closed.

On the side, those aren’t nails either but access holes to fasteners so the outer wood plinth can be changed for a different wood (Maple, Cherry or Black) or removed altogether. I know some users did this as they felt it improved the sound of the deck.

Yes, I have one from acoustic revive. My dealer installed it and the cart too.
My dealer is selling Rega since 25 years . He doesn’t think that the spacer is not optimal.
As always, some think that Naim must go with Naim only, Rega with Rega…
A lot of Rega Rp10 users in the world have Lyra and spacers on their arm. You can google and will find a lot of forums ( Steve Hoffmann forum, …etc).

Head shell spacer? Arm shim? Or both?

That’s a fabulous looking set up, I got my gyro SE 18 months ago with the tecnoarm. I’ve been looking to make gradual upgrades starting with the cartridge, moving to MC and the Michell HR power supply. Do you think the HR makes a big difference? Thanks, and again, love that set up

It’s acoustic signature. You have inside different spacers. Don’t remember which one , perhaps 2mn.

For the arm

I am old fashioned (and my current tt has neither, but I do like oodles of real wood on a turntable and a lid .

The acoustic signature is easier to put on the arm vs the Rega spacer. And you have more different height spacers in the box. Costs maybe 40 dollars.
