Jesfirth’s profile states “LP12/Aro” so I’d guess that’s a yes.

@Skeptikal – interesting and thanks for posting. Where is the balance/CoMass of the new Keel now(?), as the issue IMHO has always been the weight bearing on the spring near the arm, noting Linn’s arms have got increasingly heavier, the moreso if you have to have the larger c/w for the heavier cart’s.

I can understand why the greater mass is better (a more controlled bounce?), but does this mean they’ve upgraded the springs too?

The new one looks fantastic. Is the one on the right for an Aro?

Hi
The mass is now very central sort of more between the bearing and armboard.
In the picture where the sub is thickest it’s almost double the previous one.
It feels very stable even when using the cueing device.
It no longer has that easy wobble when being handled.
When Peter fitted it he did change all the springs and grommets although the spec for the springs hasn’t changed.

Hi
The one on the right is the standard Linn Keel
I’ve added some pictures in the reply above.
It’s a very obvious upgrade you don’t have to think about it.

Those are nicely machined plates. Something one doesn’t usually see and going some way of explaining cost.

Hi
It’s very impressively machined and all that quality gets hidden from the eyes
“ but not the ears “ :+1:

If you haven’t already, there’s a short YouTube vid done by Linn (just put ‘Linn Keel SE’ in), which shows the machining - I can’t post the link in this thread.

@Skeptikal – thanks. Obviously, something to be welcomed vis the CoMass change, but I cannot help but think this is way beyond time. I’m going to have a chat with my local dealer (Rearsby is too far).

Shame it’s too far well worth the effort for a great setup.
319 miles from me.
How often do you do such a major rebuild upgrade.

Hi Emrah
Looks great! What platform do you have under the Vertere?

I made it myself from a heavy slab of hi quality bamboo which i painted black. I found matching size of non-break glas. The placing is on isoacoustic feet. I think it works very well, but I never tried professional isolation platforms

Working up the courage to fit my new SupaTrac tone arm. The arm fitting is a bit of a bodge for now as the SME 12 arm board has a curved bottom and doesn’t accept bolts from below.
So made up a contraption using an SME arm height spacer, hope it works okay .

5k euros for the Keel SE. Congrats Linn, the margins should indeed be very interesting.

Hi.
A bargain compared to many offerings in this game.
It’s a pity all the machining is hidden. :+1:

I don’t want to spoil your pleasure. So won’t continue.
If I see it at that price, it won’t make a chance to get me on an even keel. No need to take a cold shower.

Hi
I see your point and appreciate your first comment.
Realistically given the length of time the first keel has been around the price does rather settle out to similar given the time frame.
Remember there is always the option of selling on the previous that is no longer available or trading in.
Given what some upgrades cost the improvement is very obvious.

FWIW: the inventor/proprietor of the SupaTrac arm is on the Steve Hoffman Forums as user ‘tryitfirst’. You can probably get helps and advice straight from the horses mouth if you need it.

Yep he’s on the pinkish forum as well, been very helpful so far.

Thanks @Skeptikal for your comprerhensive response and really informative pictures
