Speaker jumpers

That diagonal set up worked a treat with my Proac D40R. But the K6 requires a straight up and down jumper. The K6 Signature is happier straight up and down, too. I think the crossover is more complicated and does not like the diagonal set up. The diagonal causes the sound to break up at high volumes.

I haven’t yet had the time to make up some KS-1 jumpers, but I thought as I was dusting the Hi-Fi I’d also move the speakers out, take a proper look at the original jumpers and give the sockets a quick in/out clean in the process.

I’ve gone down a different route and converted my scm11’s to single wiring (10 min job moving the hf to the lf binder post with the plastic plate out) and they sound more of a piece and together. Might be in my head but seems worth doing.

I’ve just powered everything off for five minutes (to allow all capacitors to discharge fully), then moved the speaker leads (SL) from the top box to the lower box on my Kudos 808s. I can’t say for sure that it sounds better than before, but it certainly sounds very, very good.
