What country are you in? I see a remastered Boom Book album and it’s lossless. There’s boom boom track of different album that’s lossless haven’t run into non lossless yet. Spotify did use the words nearly all, so that does allow for exceptions. In Tidal I’ve run across mp3 albums.

UK. The album is called “Boom Boom”, after the track, I suppose.
In Germany I get it 16/44.1 by Spotify.
Do we have to change anything in the app. At the moment under streaming services Spotify mines set to Extreme.
Can’t see a lossless setting.

On my tablet I can set the Spotify app to lossless
The lossless setting is endpoint device specific. Make sure your end point is selected first.That determines what SQ settings are available.
That’s my experience here.. anyway.
On my desktop I had to log out and back in to see the Lossless option which showed on my iPhone.
Lossless is now possible on my NSS333 but strangely not on my Lindemann Bridge II even though they claim it should be (same manufacturer of streaming board as naim).
Yesterday I said I couldn’t get a lossless version of John Lee Hooker’s Boom Boom album on Spotify. I must have been having a senior moment because today I can. Doh!

In Naim devices, Extreme setting will get you lossless once your account has lossless and you set the Connect to lossless as well on your or computer.
I was even mentioned if Spotify were to come out with a hires tier, the Extreme setting can handle up to 24/192 without an update. I can’t see them coming out with a hires tier but you never know. I personally don’t this hires adds any value unless give access to better mastering.

I’m still waiting for the lossless version, but until then, I’d appreciate an answer: why can’t I change the quality when I’m connected to Uniti Atom? When music is playing on my phone, I can change the quality, but when I connect to Uniti Atom, the quality selection option becomes unavailable. Why?
I learned from Lindemann support that it’s not only a matter of Spotify releasing support to the end user. They also need to release the access to the manufacturers to make their products accept Lossless (for those who have it ready in software). So Naim has got OK from Spotify but Lindemann is still on the waiting list. Strange when they both use Streaming unlimited.
For that golden sound video, I heard that the complaint about no exclusive mode for windows desktop software was already addressed by Spotify in a AMA Reddit. They said an update is in active development. This is better than what Deezer, Amazon, and Apple Music have done. I just using Spotify Connect to my Naim HE, so doesn’t affect me, but good to know Spotify is making good on bit perfect lossless for most use cases.

It kind of weird since my ears play tricks on me. Listening to Cate Le Bon new album and comparing 24/96 vs 24/16 and at first it seems like Qobuz is better. But when I do quick back and forth, there is no difference. When I don t even pause and just start up track from other service can tell volume, tones, soundstage, air. All the same. I haven’t done any extended testing though.
But after using a few days I’ve grown use to Spotify inface and it’s already created some pretty good playlists. And prefer to just keep the one steaming service account and already have a family account on Spotify.
Hi Cluffy, I had same issue. in accounts in the naim app go to spotify and logout. restart the app . from spotify then I found the lossless option was there and select your streamer as output. I did not have to put login details into the naim app it just worked .

I am currently using a Node 2i into my NDS for Spotify lossless but would like to upgrade it to a Primare NP5. What astounds me is that the NP5 does not yet support it. I also hear that the Lindemann lime tree bridge ii doesn’t either. Doesn’t bode well for the future. I am currently considering sticking with Bluesound as they appear to be a) On the ball and b) Great VFM. Of course I could always get a used ND5XS2 but that’s double my budget and I don’t have the confidence in Naim to support it in future. I queried Spotify lossless 12 months ago about NaimbSpotify support for gen1 streamers and got the following response:
“Unfortunately, we are unable to confirm any technical specifications or which products will have the processing power and availability to support this until further information is provided by Spotify to third-party manufacturers like us.”
What does that actually mean? The new streamers were all compatible at that point. It would have been more useful to me to know that gen1 wasn’t compatible and wouldn’t be and the later stuff was compatible subject to nothing changing before lossless release.
I don’t blame them but it turns me off buying premium digital kit. Just wish they’d build a streaming transport for around £1500. I’d buy it
