Stereophile review of restored Chrome Bumper system

I’m learning how important synergy is with the vintage gear. The 42 sounded lovely with a BD 160, which is even warmer and mellow than a 110, so the 42 probably is quite shrill. I too sold it on. Either I didn’t have the 110 or it was being serviced and I didn’t know what good partners that were supposed to be at that time. Like yours, it was cheap and I should of just hung onto it.

The humble Nait 1 is a remarkably good amplifier, which punches well above its weight. It may be low output, but with reasonably sensitive speakers it’s hard to beat. I reckon the musical enjoyment I got from that together with a modest LP12 (pre-Cirkus, Basik, Valhalla, K-9) and a pair of Rogers LS7s was unsurpassed. I still have my Nait 1 in an upstairs system.
