Appreciate members feedback on what Streamer or DAC (not necessarily naim) you are using for Nait 50 and your views on the subject.
@vtpcnk ND5XS2, NDX2, 333. Depending on budget and importance of streaming to you. The NDX2 and 333 improve with a power supply at an added cost. It also depends on whether you want to keep things in the Naim ecosystem.

Just bought a Cambridge EXN100 streamer/dac/pre for mine. Works well ,sounds great, good app, and no degradation in quality using remote volume
NDX2 is (for me) the perfect combo with the NAIT50.
else the little AURALIC VEGA S1 (but it is no longer available new)
an more expensive, but very good, the WEISS DAC501 MK2

Really happy with my “Watson audio => analog” . No screen, really small and amazing sound.
Yes, not so “cheap” but what a sound

I had a Bluesound Node going into a Benchmark DAC3. I recenly acquired a Nait 50, and in my haste to hook it up in my system, I bypassed the Benchmark DAC3 and instead utilized the DAC in the BS and sent the analog signal straight into the Nait 50. I was shocked at how good it sounded. And I’m still running it that way after several weeks.

A nobrainer at ÂŁ1600. Nothing comes close at that price.
I upgraded from NDX2 to 333 on my Nait 50, NDX2 was already good, 333 is amazing.

I got the Weiss 204 recently - more affordable (albeit no frills) but sounds exceptional. Big uplift on Qutest which I had.

I briefly heard a Bluesound Node Icon the other day with a relatively pricey setup and that sounded lovely but I know very little Bluesound
Cambridge Audio offers 60 day home trial & free return if purchased from their website. CA support is also fantastic
Or just go with anyone of the great Naim streamers

WiiM Ultra ( best app interface and software)

Looking to try an external DAC with the WiiM Ultra…
The Node Icon does however just edge all others on sound quality ( the app is prettty good too)…
I’ve avoided the ND5 XS2 for multiple reasons (software, WiFi abilities, planned replacement obsolescence risk, price ) considering the Ultra and a Qutest or a Node Nano plus DAC is less expensive and I suspect the DAC is the critical element…
LAIV uDAC looks interesting too with a NANO…
Regardless the NN50 will do whatever streamer full justice!
You could try the ND5XS2 to see if you like it. WiFi has been flawless for me and Naim will support it for many years yet. 6 years warranty too if you shop around. I’d say it’s worth a punt especially if you get the 30 day trial option. You never know you might actually love it. £1349 nearly new

I’ll pass thanks; the software is critical to me as is wifi connectivity. I can’t see the value in the ND5XS2 personally compared to an Ultra plus DENAFRIPS or LAIV

You’d be surprised how important a high quality streamer with a proper internal power supply actually is. The difference is not small versus low level streamers when placed in a back to back test. I see the ND5XS2 as an end game streamer for anyone who wants to use an external DAC.
