Terry from Primare told me that the update was due in June, It was originally planned for May , but was delayed due to the Munich HiFi show. Should be great once it is available. I have recently got the MK2 version for my NDX, and even via Airplay it really has impressed me.
Than you
Interesting that they use this, I have the Nait 50 on order . I want to reduce the volume of my system in both terms of boxes and space taken up .
I will substitute my Nova for my UnitiQute (I only use internet radio and the DAC) .
At that price point I would have thought either the Atom HE or the ND5XS2
If I was the OP I would keep his Atom and use it as a streamer
When you say DMP-A6m (as opposed to DMP-A6) do you mean the master edition?
Please do let us know what you think of it when you receive it.
Congratulations for your Nait 50. Looking forward to hear your thought about its sound quality after you get it.
Thanks for the info @Alphapix @jmtennapel, much appreciated. Looking forward to that landing! Though I use my NP5 perfectly well without it, itāll be interesting to see what the integration is like
Primare is a different company than Naim of course, but I find that embedded Qobuz sounds massively better than chromecasted Qobuz via the Qobuz app.
Thanks, Iāve just realised Iām investing in an amplifier costing Ā£2,700 with 25 watts per channel and two DIN inputs ā¦
The only firm I would trust for that would be Naim
Do you think the Nait 50 will beat your Nova Ian? The Nova would give you a lower box count. It will be interesting to hear what you think of the change when it happens.
Iāve just tested the Internet Radio from the UnitiQute and the Nova . A slight advantage to the Nova , -then I realised the Nova had a full Powerline , whilst the UnitiQute didnāt .
I contacted my dealer to see if and when they had an ex-demo Powerline so that when the UnitiQute goes into the audio rack both will have a super duper Powerline
The lower box count comes from the three boxes that the Nova/Phono Stage and power going to two boxes
Iāll be fascinated as well . I have wanted Naim to produce more half width boxes for ages , and to see this was too good to refuse.
Lejonklou claims that Spotify sounds best with his KƤlla streamer.
Thatās a very expensive way to listen to lossy audio.
I was planning to use my Atom as the streamer for a NAIT 50, hoping that the RCA to DIN doesnāt matter that much.
Not a bit, RCA to DIN cables are easily obtainable (Iām looking at 3.5 metre Chord cable that will connect the DAC attached to my BluRay player) to my audio system)
Spent an hour this afternoon listening to my UQ2 accessing my Mac Mini and my Lumin D2 doing the same thing both being amplified by the UQ2. Unsurprisingly the D2 sounded better. Will do the same thing when the little beast arrives but my money is on the Lumin.
Of all the streaming services Iāve tried on Naim streamers, Spotify had the worst sound quality, even compared to other lossy streams such as Apple and Deezer. Iāve never heard a KƤlla so I canāt comment on that.
Almost incredible claim, but when it was said by Fred Lejonklou, it must carry some weight?
I used to own a Stageline K for over 20 years, but when I switched to the Lejonklou Entity 2 last year, I was mightily impressed by it.
Perhaps, but I doubt he was expecting his findings to apply to streamers feom other brands.
Yes, it was only applied in the context of his streamer.
Hi - Yes. Still debating between the 2. From an aesthetic perspective I donāt like the gold on the Master which may well influence my choice. Will report back.
- How ādecentā is the BS nodeās dac? It sounded awful in my all Naim system when I tried it.
- It does not seem sensible for buyers of the Nait 50 (that is very likely to be an excellent-sounding small integrated amp) to start with such a poor dac that you yourself feel the need to upgrade it with an external dac.
