I think you are correct in that long lengths of A5 were to help older naim amps.
So if i decide to power the Ovators with a Primare pre-power amp combination can i use a nordost cable e.g. (hypothetically speaking)???
Will a nordost cable in any way harm the Ovators when used with another brand amplification???

The damage with weird cables doesn’t harm the speakers although performance may vary.
But certain types of cable more often than not used with Naim amps can cause serious overheating problems where the amp sees the cable as very high resistance like poor connections.
I don’t believe your amp is at fault but something thereafter being problematic.
