You’re always welcome Marco!
I wondered about this as well…
It’s OSB, wouldn’t have thought it has any particular acoustic properties as it’s fairly hard and rigid stuff
I’m guessing you both have a good sense of humour
…well done you two, but for me it’s a bit too
. I’d be hoping the next one is a lot more
…allowing the aural senses to dominate the visual ones ![]()
I wondered if it would serve almost as a form of “mini-baffling” since it is not at all smooth, thereby minimizing or reducing sonic reflections.
Looks fab! Especially as just noticed the amp packs on the 40s
First post at the new Naim forum. Featuring my NAP-100 powering the KEF-Q150. Recently move to a room due to work commitment so I had to give up my ELS-303 floor stander. The NAP-100 fit nicely into my desktop setup due to its compact size and amazing performance.
Thanks Hifi-dog and well spotted. The ATC SCM40 actives replaced my previous Ovator S400’s and a 250DR amp. Been running in for a few weeks now and I’m really enjoying them.
what ‘s the difference vs ovator 400/ 250dr and atc 40 a? in a few words Paul
I would say that the ATC’s give a greater weight and presence as well as revealing more detail to the music. There’s a lot said about their impressive mid range which I can fully appreciate. There was nothing wrong with my Ovators but the ATC deal gave me an opportunity to get new speakers with less wires and fewer boxes.
Hello Tobyjug,
I’m not sure I understand your question.
My listening room was originally recording room.
The diffusers are remnants of my recording studio, in addition to the design, they help the balance of the frequencies medium (contrast better defines).
Man Alive they look good in black!!
I am still amazed about the journey. Everything, literally everything besides the speakers has been upgraded. And even at my humble beginnings with 282, 200 and CDX2 I very much enjoyed the sound, while not comparable to what I hear now. The upgrade bug started to sneak in when the NDAC was added to the CDX2, what a step that was…
Now contemplating to potentially get the 2nd 555PS in the gap of my fraim left…
Let’s see if it will happen, while I am already extremely happy…
Not so much a question. I intended to make an observational comment on the use of OSB - or what I thought was chipboard used as wall material.
Not something you see everyday.
Interested in your use of it. As you say the room was once a place for recording, so must have some positives with acoustics. ![]()
You still haven’t got round to letting David Baldacci of the hook.
I already read it and don’t want to pay a lot of money for Ansuz cable holders - while they must be great…
