System Pics 2019

have a look at the hans beerhcin you tube channel. e as one too and does a review of it.

Hi, you will not believe it, I was just watching his video What makes a good DAC?..

I will seek his review of the FM, and I am realising there is much more to making a good choice for this part of my set-up.

Thanks for the guidance, and any further opinions welcome please.

Thank you…

Hi Fred,

I saw that you had asked other users about these, my view is that with the great decline in the number of audio dealers, it’s a bit of lottery these days unless you are prepared to spend serious amounts of time travelling.

I was interested in the Kudos X3 , my need is for compact floor standers , I have Harbeth P3ESR which are lovely with acoustic and the spoken voice, but occasionally I want something that is more tuneful and can go deeper and richer , it seemed the Kudos might fit the bill .

Now you’ve had them a few months, do you have any thoughts ?

Are those P90s in that guitar?

P90? What are?

the pickups!

They are original and fully functional, they are 42 years old!

I asked because they have the P90 shape/size, but you seldom see them with chrome covers (John Lennon’s Epiphone being one notable exception that I can think of).

I tested this and it does make a worthwhile difference on my 82 :grinning:

Hi Ian
Well the X3 can be very nice. Very expressive and I really like the bass. It is deep, tight and tunefull. But in the wrong room/setup they can sound to lean in the top. In my new livingroom, since I moved, I preferred the the Neats alphas for this reason since they are more natural, especially in the top. It plays with 82-hicap-250.2. But in my basement with a lesser amp, the 102-200, they sounded extremely good. The Harbets should be more natural, so bevare of to much intensity in wrong setup. You should try it first for your self, I think.

Looking good Andrea. Is that an EKO Kiwi?

Yes, A gift from my father of 42/45 years ago …

Many thanks, I have a 200/202 and in my fairly long but thin sitting room I need speakers with a small footprint. I had PMC FB1 and they were the “elephant in the room”

I’s very much a question of creating a short list and then identifying dealers within a certain radius .

Best wishes

My (potential) new speakers have just arrived for a home demo. Looking forward to some intense listening over a long weekend.

Interested to see how these Neat SX7i’s preform against my 25 year old Royd Priors.

it’s the same model that uses @Stephen_Tate? the base seems to be well done.

No, unfortunately not. I use a far less ambitious model - Motive SX2. I will post a picture of set-up in due course, just need to get my act together. Thanks…

They are not very big. Great in this room, with almost the same amp as you. What source do you have?
