Teir site states its an active smps not a passive one. And tey ave a comparison wit a linear power supply statin tat its quiter tan te linear one. Tey ave a cart sowin ow it works, but not sure about manufacturers claims as tey always claim sometimes are exaerated. ans fron ytube tou uses and reccommends tis same smps and says its one of te best available. Im onna put mine in tommorrow and ill report on any SQ improvements if tere are any at all.
Sorry bout te missin words my keyboard letters arent workin proprtly.

I was onna buy a linear one, but tey are most cinese and tey look very poorly made as well as avin no kite mark or safety standard. I tink mf do a reccommended linear one but tey are quite expensive for an uprade. Look ar some of te ifi reviews on amazon and youll be suprised by ow tey can improve te sound. Of course tere mit not be muc SQ improvement but fot 50.00 its okay. Anyways you could ask if tey do a money back uarantee if tere are no improvements and some sellers will ive money back uarantee if you dont et te SQ improvement.
I buy mine from future sop uk and tey ave very ood customer service.

Looks very cosy and inviting.

Hello Holmes
thers a guy with a webpage who makes hi fi racks.
I asked him if he would supply one with specific heights to the shelves (i wanted a bit more clearance to keep the sn2 and stramer apart and etter cable hanging) and extra long bottom shelf legs.
Also asked him to do it in walnut to best match my neat sx1s.
He had to get the wood imported from USA but it was cheap as chips and a good stop gap while I save for a fraim rack. Then I can swap this one over to my other rac which holds the cisco, wifi router, lingo 4 and phono amp/psu.

The 303 fits via a 3 pointed spider not a central column with a large single nut. VTA is set by inserting a series of shims between said spider and the armboard. It’s been a few years since I had a go at this so maybe there’s an easier way to do it now and maybe someone like Origin have come up with their own solution. All I can say is the Rega way of doing it made life difficult.
On a side note, the only way to adjust azimuth was to put additional spacers between 1 or 2 of the fixing points to tilt the whole arm in the required direction. in the end I gave up. :joy::joy:
Your outlook is pretty much where I find myself. I downsized from valve amps, large Tannoys, DAC’s, preamps etc etc. It all just got too much. Much happier with what I have now. It takes up less room, sounds pretty good and I use it much more than I did the other stuff. :+1:

Ah OK yes I have seen those spider fittings look a real PITA I think I’d have done the same thing as you and tried another arm completely.

you have fixed it on the wall? or the inversed photo?

I took the Nak Dragon for my vintage system but I think it will remain with the Naim one. It’s a very nice piece of kit. And shows the SQ potential of the cassette tape media.

So how do you turn the photo round?

Never mind I just took another in landscape format.

I really like this thread, all systems and photos of peoples homes. From the mighty Statement in a dedicated listeningroom, to the eyecatching Qb in a kitchen. So here is my contribution, a system that evolved since i bought my first gear some years back.

Very nice. What are those speakers?

The speakers are Audiovector SR3 Super. I recently bought them replacing my old speakers Audiovector ki3 Signature. Danish design.

I just auditioned their entry level floorstanders, QR3’s yesterday, was impressed. The planar tweeters are so easy to hear, just wonderful, thinking of buying some in a few months.

Lovely! Not heard Audiovecor speakers, but they are on the list to try and audition at some point. Weren’t Audiovector the Naim importer and voiced their speakers around the Naim sound? Sure I read that somewhere, but could be wrong.

Also, really like Quadraspire in black & white as opposed to the usual wood veneer - its giving me ideas!

How do you think the Dragon compares against your BX-300?

I have not made any comparison so far. Took the Dragon yesterday. As a replay I expect BX-300e to be on par (or almost) with a good recorder tape. As far as I know the play head is the same. The big difference has to be the special record head of the Dragon and the NAAC and tape calibration systems. In terms of recording the Dragon should be way ahead. But the BX-300e is a very good one. It’s better than my lovely Pioneers - CT-F1250 and CT-F900. And the Nakamichi Dragon is indecently good

I think they were a couple of years back, sound really wonderful together. I wisited a hifishow in Sweden when a guy from Naim (Mike?) demonstrated the new DR units. The demonstration was with Audiovector SR3 Super.
