Really nice! Any shots of the SL2s? The wood veneer just showing to the right of the picture must be some sort of cabinet.
What is the veneer on your SL2 speakers? Thatâs a tantalising shot of the side of one box. Looks gorgeous. Maybe you could provide a picture of the speakers?
Nothing has caught fire or melted yet!
The sl2 are the small black speakers next to my 300l Mandrake altec604 project!
The big speakers do not work well with Naim, they need single ended triode!
I hope itâs okey to post pictures of work in progress. This is how it stands now
Next pic will be with system all plugged back inđ
Phew!
The forum members donât REALLY want to read about you being a CRISPY duck. Stay safe.
How do the two systems compare and contrast?
A bit like comparing a Corvette with a Lotus Elan. My âMandrakesâ are not finished and I am tweeking the crossovers all the time but they are âeffortlessâ, have power, resolution, and flow but are not as agile, âevenâ, rythmic, or fast as the SL2. I right now prefer the Naim system and my wife prefers the Mandrake (with jjelectronic 2a3-20 amp and cd12). That said, the Linn CD12 is way better than the CDS/CDSPS.
That looks really cool Lucifer - will look forward to the finished project.
Done and done! Sound is quite different. Smoother with more punch (maybe). The gear has been disconnected this whole time
Iâm pleased with the looks and possibly the sound too. Best bang for buck so far (230ÂŁ).
Lots of work! But not difficult.
Looks great Lucifer. Must be great to have dedicated listening rooom.
Thank you! Itâs actually half the room. The other half, behind the listening position is the Living room. But yes it is great to have my own space. I live alone with 3 kids every other weekđ
Did you get the 282 back from UK or is it stuck there now?
I havenât heard anything so donât know if itâs stuck but itâs not here. I gather Corona could have affected.
Iâm more than pleased with the 82 though so am in no hurryđ
Edit: just saw the notice that Naim closed down to ensure safety for the coworkers. Good choice. I wish them well. My 282 will be here in due time.
Superb photo, natural, with an etherial feel.
Luck or judgement?
