That’s lovely! Fancy a swap?
Very nice picture indeed. May I ask you why you have chosen to place neither the 552 nor the 555 on top of the other Faim?
That’s excellent, here is a close up of the bubinga on my Sondek. Krystal on the end of my Aro. Is that a Kandid on yours? That wenge has great grain. He has two boards, one quarter saw and the other flat saw cut. 8 months to wait. It may be worth the deposit up front👍

I have the K-Radikal on top of the right hand Fraim stack, which, apart from the cassette player is all power supplies. If I convince myself that I no longer need the cassette player, then I’ll move the NAPST to that position and have all power supplies on that side.
That’s very nice. I don’t see why you’d want to change it for a wenge plinth. That said, there are some far more patterned wenge plinths than mine around. For instance, Peter Swain has a stunning one among the demo decks he has at Cymbiosis.
That’s beautiful
That’s a gorgeous set up
It certainly is. One of my guilty pleasures was browsing the ‘show us your LP12’ thread in the Blue place (RIP). As much as i love a Rega or Bauer DPS, there’s still something about the LP12…
Sorry for the slight detour but can you tell me how you verify that an NDX2 or ND555 is set to fixed output?Thx
On my 555, choose settings in the app (cog icon), Volume Mode, select Fixed.
Thanks for the reply @Eoink but in Settings or in Other Settings there is no Volume mode option. What am I missing?
Hi. How are the Ruark Prelude 2 speakers holding up ?
I still have my old much loved pair in storage.
Would be interested in your thoughts about them.
Have you thought about upgrading them ? If so, what have you in mind as they take some beating.
Cheers.
The Prelude 2’s are still fabulous. They transmit the benefits of other upgrades.
They are the one element of my original system that my wife took a real interest in during the demonstrations.
They are probably the next update, especially now I’ve shifted the main rack off to one side.
I quite fancy some PMC OB1i’s in oak or B&W 802 D2’s in black, but I’ve not had the funds when they’ve come up on e-bay.
You need to turn off system automation and then the volume menu appears or vice versa
If you have enabled the system automation, that option is not available.
I think you were commenting on my post, so thanks. I just did a complete tear down of my lp12, I installed a new top plate with the added motor stud in the upper left corner(My original was from the 80’s). And a new spring kit, and did a complete hand rub and buff on the plinth with a oil/wax called “Howard’s fine finish”. It brings out the natural color of the wood and maintains a nice finish.
@HiFiman Beautiful system. Do the top 2 levels of your Fraim have the medium size spacers or the tall size spacers ?
Thanks MagicBus these are medium legs.
