Just doesn’t look ‘balanced’ to me.

If my wife caught me like this — feet off… No more need for socks… She’s quite militant in this department

Giving the 202/200 a little test run before I bid farewell to the amps. After living with the amps for nearly a decade, they will finally be traded in for a Luxman L-590AXII. It was a difficult decision as I wanted to keep the 202/200 for sentimental reasons. They saw off many amps, at least 7 amp combinations when I tried to salvage my Harbeth Super HL5 speakers 11 years ago. I would have sold the Harbeth if I hadn’t tried the Naim.

Yep, loving the lampshade, Carruthers.
Meanwhile, suggest you continue with your playing - it’s looking “not-quite-there-yet” at the moment.
That, of course, is my opinion - yours might be different (although I can’t imagine how it would).

Did the same, too many boxes, needed a service - so off the 202/200 HiCap NAPSC and Stageline went . It was a very painful decision

I really think they need a SuperDuper Nait on top of the Supernait 3 at 100 watts per channel

Is that actual Fraim glass and balls etc?

Did it make much difference to the Isoblue as an upgrade?

Im an Isoblue owner.

Thanks

Rod

Yes, apart from my main goal of attaining a different amp to optimise the Marten Duke 2 (both 202/200 and 282/250 do not match well with the Marten), I did take into consideration the need to reduce boxes as well. Hence, the decision managed to kill two birds with one stone although I need to top-up a little for the trade-in of the 202/200.

The 282/250DR is reserved for the Harbeth Super HL5+ as this combination is very good. Similarly I feel a SuperDuper Nait may be necessary to give the higher-end integrateds from the likes of Vitus, Gryphon etc. a run for their money.

Hi rod - the set under the nd5xs2 are naim glass cups and balls and under the amp is a piece i got form ebay but with the proper cups and balls. The naim glass is so much better finished tho so ill kepp my eyes out for another at some point. Yes there is a difference, not massive but a tightening up of focus and separation.

Indeed , the big Rega as well.

Thanks for your reply.

I was thinking of keeping my Isoblue and questioning whether carrying out a Fraim style glass upgrade on the shelves would be worthwhile, especially under the more critical source components.

That is useful to know and would be an icing on the cake possible upgrade, once the more expensive box upgrades are done.

Cheers

Rod

We lost our lounge / listening room to home schooling some time ago…

To be fair, it looks like you only lost your coffee table rather than the whole room!

Latest noises from govt seem to be moving in the direction of getting kids back to school reasonably soon. Hang in there.

Yes, the Aethos and Osiris

I replaced my 200/202, Hi Cap, Stageliine, and NAPSC with an Aetheos and a ProJect DS2 phono stage .

In fairness they were long overdue a service and new caps but the Rega is very, very good .

I guess they had SN2 as their target when designing it

I know, you’re right Ebor, but it was the only room in the house we used to keep kid free, a haven, if you like…looking forward to getting it back soon and being able to turn the music up!
