System Pics 2020

I find the sound quality from a Core rip played back to my NDX2 to be better than a Tidal hi-fi stream, though both are very good. A number of bands I follow aren’t on Tidal as well.

A wired Ethernet connection from the router to the NDX2 can be more reliable, though that may depend on how good your wireless network is.

Hello Mikevet
Condolences

Lovely system - did you listen to the NDX2 without the XPS and then compare with? If so was there much of an improvement in sound quality?

Regards

My condolences to you. It’s a tough thing to go through.

Nice system and what an entry point! Nicely done. To answer your question about where next - I’d say a Supercap for your 282. This will pave the way for a 252/552 up the road a bit. In the meantime, kick back and enjoy your wonderful system for a while.

I did in the show room . It was night and day

It all looks very nicely done. If you are after specific advice then it’s best to start a thread. My suggestion would be a 555PS.

Deepest sympathy on your loss, you have a lovely system.

My condolences to you for your mum and @DrMark for his dad. My mum died peacefully on Christmas Eve aged 102 and 8 months almost! It’s a difficult thing and now you have to prepare for the funeral. It’s a time to reflect on all the happy memories and what she meant to you. I found peace and writing helps after reflection and talking to others. Grieving is an important part of the process and a tears even in public at funeral is part of it. Don’t be afraid that you can’t do the tribute - there is only one chance.

My condolences. From the looks of it your room is not accoustically treated. That´s what I would look into if I had your system which I almost have. My room treatment made a very worthwhile difference.

My sympathies for your loss Mike.

Good point. We have tried not been in 5 months and other parts of the house and farm have sucked up time and attention. What do you suggest or beat I start a thread I think

I would suggest measuring the room as a first step and get a competent company usch as GIK Acoustics to help.

@MIKEVET

Please accept my condolences as well. It will not be easy but the company of friends can sometimes ease things a bit.

I like the advise regarding room treatment.

Maybe a good place to start will be the internet…many articles and YouTube videos.

Treating the room where necessary always brings a marked improvement.

Good luck !

@DrMark

please accept my condolences as well.

Hope music and friends carry you ahead…

Best regards

Nice, do you not have a listening issue with the tweeters firing rather high above seated level as you have the speakers raised so much?

Very nice FR…and some weak winter sunshine, makes all the difference

Very sorry to hear of your sad loss, we have also lost a loved one at Christmas. Most folk on this forum are really helpful and kind. I hope you find some comfort in listening to music you enjoy.

Not at all Popeye. I am tall, so perhaps it compensates :smile:

Very sorry to hear of your sad loss.

As for your system, you have really good kit and it looks nicely installed so my advice would be put on some your favourite music and enjoy it as much as you can.
