System Pics 2020

That’s a Tonträger stand from Germany. They specialize in stands for Harbeth speakers.

That correct-Tonträger on 30 mm granite. Sounded much better than the Linn stands they replaced-better tone and larger soundstage.

The hifi rack is my own design in oiled oak with steel substructure where each granite shelf (8 of them) rests on weight adapted sorbothane pads and is damped with bitumen, each Naim has three stillpoints Ultras as feet and the rack sits on Finite Element cerabase. Linn gear do not respond to aftermarket feet according to me. Don’t ask me how it sounds but I like it and the granite is polished Verde Savana to match the “olive”. It weighs like 120 kg…without gear.

My profile picture is not me but Paulino Bernabe, who built my concert guitar.

Thanks for asking.

My lovely wife took the kids to a playground, so daddy can enjoy two hours of listening on this beautiful Sunday. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

@Fred11 — your Nait looks great on that mid-century style sideboard! May I ask, what’s the make of the sideboard? Cheers!

Slowly but surely ripping cd collection to external hd attached to Uniti Star.
My plan is to hide my one Naim box in cupboard so nothing is on show just the Credo speakers .
Very impressed and pleased with sound from my simple system.

Oh, great setup! Congrats. Until today I preferred the white version of the Q10s. But now I really have to consider those grey Gurus …

System Update: Just changed the PMC Twenty 24’s for a pristine pair of PMC Twenty 26’s…WOW, what a difference the dedicated mid range makes, just fantastic.

Also invested in the new Chord English Electric 8 Switch. I was a bit sceptical about audiophile switches, but the SQ improvement is very noticeable, so don’t knock it😁 Also ran a 10m length of Chord C Stream cable from the router to the switch. No idea if the £90 spent has made any difference, lol.

Another addition even though my headphone listening is far and between is a pair of Sony WH-1000xm3. They sound great.

Hope you like the pics

Nice Jozzer.

Do you leave the speakers right back or pull them out when listening?
If not, give them ago about 30cm of the back wall. They will sound much more open and dynamic. :+1:t2:

What did u replace with your English Electric switch?
Can u say more about what improvement u noted with this switch.
I’m using $120 Ubiquiti switch 8 and am considering either the EE or UpTone Ether Regen but after reading all the posts about audiophile switches I’m perplexed. Seems many don’t note any benefit while others do. I have ndx2/xpsdr.

Recently, I changed and upgraded my system in many aspects:
ND5 XS2 replaced ND5 XS as streaming transport (still using nDAC for digital-to-analogue conversion) - made a big improvement.
After that, Isotek Optimum Powerchords were replaced by simpler Isotek Premier Powerchords for SN2, Streamer and nDac - less HiFi and more music, clearer and more refined sound - can´t explain it better.
Next, Audioquest Cinnamon network cables went out, Belden Catsnake cables came in, together with a Netgear “Nighthawk” Switch - more clearness in sound, although the ND5 XS2 is fed by the Melco ethernet output. At least to my ears.
Another tweak was to replace the rubber feet of the Hutter rack with spikes, which - and that is the improvement - are placed on bfly-Audio “b-disc Pro L” feet (see photo).
Last but not least, adding a Hicap DR to the SN2 which also made it necessary to get a separate powerstrip (Isotek Polaris) for my TV stuff and also for the switch. And the Hicap is really a gem. It refined the sound very, very much.

To be honest with you, I cannot tell if there is a lot of difference. This is my 3rd pair of PMC’s GB1i to 24’s then to 26’s. They always seem to be so forgiving when it comes to positioning. Maybe the ATL has something to do with it😁

I replaced a £20 TP-LINK 8 switch with the Chord EE 8 switch. I too considered the ether regen from Uptone, but thought I’d save a few quid. Regarding SQ, I noticed an immediate, perceived increase in clarity and vividness of acoustic guitar, other string instruments, piano and vocals. Over the last 6 months I’ve slowly made several small upgrades to achieve a delightful sounding system. This includes Russ Andrews 8 socket power bar and power lead for the NAP 200 DR. Chord C-Stream ethernet cabling and my favourite being the Sonore UltraRendu😁

All looks and I’m sure sounds lovely😁

Nice system! So, no pre? Just the Chord and the NAP?
Interested in the sound.

I already have some Guru Juniors and managed to pick up some Ocean Grey Q10s for a good price (forums can be costly). I know they are going to sound great (the Juniors are fantastic) but do they go in the office (CB Nait 2) or replace the Juniors in the main system (32.5/110/non-Naim PS)? Hopefully arriving this week!
