Hi, thanks. I haven’t heard the Forte III. I’d imagine they sound very similar to the II’s. I would love to hear the Cornwalls. They’re supposed to sound bigger, which they are physically!
It’s a Marantz 2275. It’s been with me since 1973. I still love the looks too. There’s something magical about that era. Maybe because that’s where I started. I’m using it as a phono stage until I decide what to get. It is remarkably quiet and good sounding. I might just keep using it. It’s free.
Perfectly ordinary behaviour for a young teenage boy during the 70’s :0)
Hi Adam
My cartridge is Ania and I use a Fono MC, but this was the first cartridge I have used on the RP6, so have not compared this to anything like the Exact. It just sounded right to me, so I went with it!
I notice you have Gaia feet on your Sopra-2 on carpet. I have Sopra -3 on carpet on a suspended floor. (Large room) Does that work for you? I currently have mine spiked through the carpet in the under plywood. Maybe I shouldn’t couple the speakers to the “bouncy” suspended floor. Your thoughts?
I first had the Sopras just sitting on top of the carpet with no spikes until I found them in the right position. When I spiked them down, it increased the definition of the mid bass. When I went with the Gaia’s, it took it to another level. The mid bass got really defined and soundstage more focused. It did take away the bass “feel” through the floor though.
I am on a suspended floor also. The Gaia’s are not sitting on the carpet. They are sitting on their carpet spike disks.
I would add Graham Slee to your list, they make very good phono stages
I’m headed in that direction!
nice SBL finish! matches that settee…
Good looking set up.
Nice rack
That’s a Graham Slee headphone amp. I use the phono stage in the xs3.
Ah, an X Wing and 3.5mm adaptor!
The force stands no chance.
Lovely SFs .
ha ha ha, well spotted, the X-fighter is an awesome addition… not sure it does anything to sound quality though ;-)… you just made me realize I have no idea where my headphones are!!!
A very relaxing picture on the wall there. Very nice.
Custom colour fraim lite?
Nope, standard cherry option.
First time I see a red Fraim. It looks good, as your wonderful speakers.
