System Pics 2020

Thanks, my only regret is I went for the lite version being convinced that the rack makes no difference to sound quality, I may be mistaken…

But it looks nicer like that. Put some isoacoustics devices under your components, and it will be still better sounding.

wow!!

bluenode 2i and qutest?

Go for it.

I had full fat Fraim many years ago. Definitely makes a difference.

You could also get some Fraim glass , balls, cups etc of course.

The Fraim lite looks very red or we are all on LSD otherwise.

Here is a photo in plain day light, the more accurate color of the Fraim and the SF shows here…

Could be a much easier and cheaper path than a full Fraim upgrade. Any specific Isoacoustic pads you recommend that work well with Naim? I know the 552 is constructed with “components in suspension” so keen not to introduce something that may have an adverse impact on the design of vibration control in Naim systems…

Very nice looking set up either way and the bonus of sounding good too.

Enjoy!

Hi kent3888,
Just browsing system pics - are those speakers focal sopra 2’s in walnut ?
If so, same as mine.
I recently purchased nac282, hicapdr and nap200dr and roksan caspian m2 CD player.
Still using my old project deck with an orthogonal black quintet s cartridge until linn akurate arrivEs with Nap250dr arrives. (Nap200dr being returned).
I was a bit worried about sound but was assured by the dealer to allow kit to warm up so I‘be allowed it every opportunity. I must say I think things are improving, I’ve rejigged stacking order and ensured no interconnects are touching. I’m using standard issue interconnects and mains plugs with naca4 speaker cable. May I please ask what you are using ?
Initially I was concerned about lack of bass but feeling a bit better now !
I wish I’d never entered this world of hifi !
Kind regards, hc056744

With such a wonderful system why would you even consider bodging it? The full Fraim is literally made for it and would look so much nicer than having funny feet under the boxes, negating all the efforts Naim have made to ensure isolation. Anyone who can afford a 500 system can afford a Fraim.

I wonder if the legs of the current Lite model are identical to the ones that come with the full Fraim

I think they are. The Lite shelves don’t look they have the cutouts for ball bearing cups if you’re planning to use glass & ball bearings. Might be easier to get it traded in for the full version.

Some use isoacoustics gaia. Different models for different weights. They seem satisfied.
But you have more expensive items, like hrs. Used all over the world.
I have finite elemente cerapucks under the Fraimlite and some old redheko pads under the nds.

The last pic from me this year

272
Chord MScaler / Qutest
ND5XS2 feeds MScaler
300
300PS
555DR
SL2s
Witchhat Phantom speaker cable
All digital interconnects from Mark Grant

Now before the Naim police step in I know its not ideal placing the 300PS on top of the 555DR but this is only temporary until I find Fraim base on the used market. I have placed pieces of black paper under the 300PS feet so not to mark the 555.

282 and HiCapDR to follow roll on 2021.

Make it one more, a close up of the top corner of the SL2 grilles, side and front if you could be so kind, call it artistic :+1:

Since its the season of good will

Thank you, sorted, there are none to be had so I’m making my own, got hold of the acoustic foam today and made a cutter, so just waiting on the glue to arrive and to make some jigs.

My missus is being a pain and says no until we get new grilles on them

No problem Colin just remember to post a picture of your foam covers once complete.

All the best
