A couple of significant changes in 2019.
The big one was the move from playing cds to streaming.
Isolation also featured as we move from upgrading boxes to extracting the best from what we are fortunate to already enjoy.
Finally, we discovered Calke Green paint…
The photos are taken with a phone, so picture quality is not always the best.
The CDS3 has made way for a Sonore opticalRendu, Chord DAVE and M Scaler (bottom shelves of the left hand rack). This has enabled several fine tuning tweaks including moving the NAC52 to the top shelf and bringing the Musicworks block on to the bottom right shelf. The phono stage and dac now sit on SRM Tech isolation (perspex platforms on soft sorbothane doughnut feet). Fitting Isoacoustic Gaia II feet to the ART speakers was arguably the most significant upgrade of all in 2019.
The streamer is now used at least ten times as often as the cd player used to be, even though I will never be able to decipher what the M Scaler’s lights are supposed to indicate:
Happy new year also from me.
I am a happy Naim listener for quite some years, but finally made it to this forum and posting for the first time.
I enjoy mostly streaming with my ND5XS into Supernait 2, but also happy to listen still to CDs on my CD5XS and, with growing pleasure recently, to records.
@anon93526344:
Speakers are from a relative small company named Inklang, they make custom speakers and are based in Hamburg, Germany. Not quite sure whether links are allowed here, but search on the net should easily bring their site up.
And thanks for mentioning the CD5XS, I really enjoy it. According to your profile, you are using now a Philips CD960?
best regards, Michael
The main system is a bit busier. Roksan TMS with Vertere PSU and phone stage, ND555, 4 box olive amp into B&W804S. The room is T-shaped so from the listening position the rack and turntable are hidden.
I just bought Niagara 1200 in combination with NAC N 272, XP15 XS, NAP 300 DR. After burn in sound is really good and safe now for lightning, i am happy!
Happy, prosperous and conscious 2020 for all out there…
Once decided to upgrade and optimize the main system, after 6 months testing different configurations, including the SN2 and SN3 that did not finish curdling in the system, and with the introduction of quite a few changes, I finally finished the Installation.
Although still in its settlement period, a sound already spectacular and totally satisfied now, enjoying the music and the room’s charming and intimate atmosphere…
Hello Gus60
First wecome to the naim community and thanks for liking my deck! Its, however, not a regular Linn Sondek plinth but rather a Tangerine Stiletto with its respecitve base…
