272/555DR out 282/HiCapDR in, I love the look of the 282.
Early days as the 282 is new and warming up.

Yep, 2 Cats and 1 dog, they have beds and cat trees everywhere! Best thing with this lock down is the music and having pets around you!
No doubt, but I’ll be thankful for the snow blower in a few hours. The storm is just starting here in Monreal.
Claude
Well,
I hope he will able in next saturday
Love the look of the stands. Simple yet elegant. I must try some open frame stands with my ATC at some point.
I changed my uprights from Silver to Black. Just fancied a change after 15 years of Silver. Really happy with the change but have kept the Silver ones in case I ever fancy swapping them round again. Lovely room & system too.
Andy, your speakers look close to the back wall. (An observation, not a criticism.) what’s the distance from the wall to the front of the speaker? Sounds like they could be a future option for me.
Is that a soundbar under the TV?
Won’t the Titans sound any better? !
It’s a wooden shelf - presumably to deflect the heat of the radiator.
I know I was joking.
Some wooden shelves are bigger than others, as the song goes.
Thanks. They are nice little things. I’ve heard that open stands work well with ATCs. I nearly bought some massively chunky Atacamas and I’m glad I changed my mind.
What speakers you owned before the Titans arrived?
It depends on what you want from a holiday. If taking it slow and enjoying diverse natural beauty and food is your thing, then 2 weeks in Hokkaido would be a lovely way to spend time.
But if you want a more Japanese experience and need to tick off a few cultural landmarks, then a week here followed by a week in the rest of the country where you can zip between landmark to landmark would suit those needs better.
Hey, how do you run Naim gear in Japan when the gear is only available 115V-230V?
The 115v transformers are all 100v tolerant. I checked with Naim before I bought anything. They all have a greater than 10% voltage tolerance and up to 2008 (when Naim pulled out of the local market), all units where 115v versions.
Thanks - really helpful. Yes, we did a couple of big ticket items (Kyoto and Tokyo) which were great. However, the best parts were the more out of the way areas such as Takayama and Matsumoto ( our favourite) plus a few days hiking around Kamikochi. So I am sure we can enjoy a longer period in Hokkaido. Thanks
They are only in their 2nd week (ex-demo) but moved them around last Weds and they are about 65cm from back wall to the front with just over 12” from the back wall to the cabinet.
I play some quite heavy tracks to test them to ensure I don’t have too much bass or congestion and they sound fab.
I had too much toe in before and they were a little closer to the back wall but was not happy about the sound. I think it was more to do with the toe in but I will leave them in situ as don’t feel a need to experiment for now.
As others have said they do sound great at low volumes and when turned up it’s like a gig atmosphere.
I had the 707’s for about 3 years before so the footprint is similar with the 808’s being slightly wider apart and 1” further out. The 707’s worked equally as well in my room but maybe needed more adjustment to get the vocals centered. The 707’s are slightly more elegant with stunning vocals and able to fill my room of 6.7x 5m approx.
707’s for 3 years, 808’s are only slight larger in all directions! Before the 707’s I had SBL’s for 15 years, massive change.
It’s a wooden shelve to help deflect some heat from the radiator to the TV.
Thinking about using a radiator cover instead but as we use a wood burner most evenings it’s not much of a problem.
Going to have a look at some past pictures on here to decide which size, I also need to include a wall shelve for the LP12.
Immediate thought, 2x tall, 2 x medium and 2 x standard but then the size of the Fraim would be higher and I quite like the height of it already and don’t want it standing out much more.
Probably spend more time on deciding which size uprights then choosing speakers!
Hard replying back on here this morning when the dog wants to play fetch with her ball!!
