System Pics 2021

Glad they helped with your rack decision Chris - you’ve got a very nice setup. I do like the Isoblue racks and think they look good with Naim kit. I’ve had the Devialet for 7 years now - quite a long time in Hi-Fi years but it keeps me happy. I’m sure that when a two box Naim integrated appears, I’ll be very tempted to return back to Naim amplification…

Some things don’t change though

I go away for a bit and come back to all these changes everywhere!
What have you ended up with?

As long as you don’t push the wrong one, should sound great once you get your 250

I’ve added a used 252 and Supercap, using the SN2 in power amp mode. I have a new 250DR on order from HQ and a full Fraim level for the NDX2 with the turntable then going back on top.

Nicely done!
Hope you’ve still managed to find some time for a bit of swingball in the garden still

I remember both those systems, including the PMCs. The system has certainly become streamlined over the years. What speakers are you using now? They look familiar but my memory needs a jog.

Mike, if you aren’t using the record circuits then it’s worthwhile muting them. You may get a slight performance uplift that way.

I’ve been toying with the idea of taking my system out of the living room and using a spare bedroom on the ground floor.

Yesterday I moved the system to see what it would be like.

Gone from a roughy 16x11 ft room to a smallish 9x8 space.

As can be seen tables are being used to support the equipment.

I’ve tried all sorts of positions for the equipment and I prefer being further away, admittedly only a foot.

The aim of moving it is to see if I’ll use it more. The living room is on the first floor and sound could impact on neighbours either side, so I limit how I listen. Being on the ground floor and only linking to a neighbours spare room on one side means I can play a little louder. Having said that, being closer seems to have a similar effect to having headphones on.

It’s an experiment so will see how it goes.

Cheers Rack - you can’t see the nose prints on the NDX2 display from our new Pup :grinning:

@ChrisNZ, they are Shahinian Compass speakers. Less attractive to Grandchildren than the PMCs !

It’s always good to see a Planar 8. It must be one of the most popular decks on here judging by the number we see in this thread. Here is mine.

I’ve got one too. I think Rega have absolutley nailed the value for money proposition with it.
The fact it was simple to set up myself and isn’t tweakable or upgradable was also a bonus for me.

And for the pics, my daughter enjoying “a vinyl” she had just bought. (Her first, and how language changes).
