System Pics 2021

Is that a real parquet floor or laminate?

Standing on a stool with my arms streched out and taking so many pics until one looked ok. Trying not to fall over is the hardest part.

Nice system, what sort of rack is it? @gav_sw20

Nordstone?

if you ask me… yes, that’s a norstone

Yes, real wood parquet floor.
Over a cement base so no flexing , squeaking or buckling when walking on it. Few years ago small area of water damage of 6ft x4ft area, had a specialist dry the damaged wood squares and reseat them and refinish them. Came out perfect and saved us a lot of money. To replace the entire floor would have cost at least $15,000.
Used to be stained lighter color but we prefer darker color.

Thanks, bought it to minimize reflections from bare wood floor.
I prefer it over the large more traditional rug …

Obviously.
But I meant something else …

Shows my ignorance of rugs- u meant the large rug.
I bought this 25 yrs ago in the “rug district” in NY city.
From some really old middle eastern gentleman. The rug is pretty old.
I actually prefer the colors and style of the small rug between my speakers

The rack is an Atacama Apollo Storm in natural oak, very reasonably priced and a solid unit.

Already looking at a DIY Fraim glass \ cup \ balls kit when my SN3 arrives.

@TimOopNorth old SL2s are safely installed at chez Colin after a room change around including shifting the dedicated spurs to the otherside of the room. So far so good, very muck liking what I hear after removing the Focal Utopias

The racks are in the far corner next to the seaing so the headphones are easier to get at without having wires trailing around the room

Excellent - looks very neat. Delighted they have gone to a good home (and avoiding me being tempted to put them as fronts in the cinema room )

Oh and very pleased you like the sound!

Default should be correct for your setup. Enjoy your NDX2 :+1:

We had them connected up to the TV last night, didn’t get the time to hook up the turntable of the CD, we were very very impressed with the presentation in an AV context, I can imagine how brilliant they would be in a full set up like @RackKit has but a waste on us.

New grilles too, I made them myself to keep the missus happy, they will be OK until TomTom get some new stock in unless I decide to keep them, which out of serial apathy is highly likely!

Looks very nice. I like Fraim, but not the price.

Cheers Kevster,
Yes I usually evaluate the worth to me of an audio component by whether or not I miss it after returning it from a home dem.
I loaned one for a few weeks, I discovered a lot of new music in that time and some that I already had on CD but sounded much better on Quobuz Hires or Tidal MQA.
I’ve always maintained a healthy scepticism re streaming, so I sent it back, it didn’t trouble my LP12 and I wasnt sure how much I would end up streaming longer term.
A few weeks later Blusound did a limited £100 off, so it was a no brainer.
A little embarrassed to say, its difficult to whisper in writing, but I havent played my LP12 near as much as before that upstart Node 2i gatecrashed the party
