Nice system in an equally nice room.

Unless I am mistaken, I think we met when I picked up a NAP250DR in Hamburg last May. Hope you are keeping well and still enjoying the cycling.

Aye, they do sound very good. The 5 speakers and Sub have an easy time filling this room which isn’t massive, with a decent sound. Lucky to have solid walls being all the speakers to so the bass is well controlled.

You’ve done a decent job with those SL2 grills which aren’t an easy shape to copy. :+1:t5:

I kept my old ones even though they were starting to shed bits every time I moved them just in case.

Me too! :sunglasses: (concerning Ovators in white that is]

& they are kid friendly loudspeakers. To heavy to turn over and steel grills.

You haven’t met my toddlers…the grills are no match unfortunately

Very nice room and color scheme, Rex! The pale blue paint and white Ovators are an elegant combination.

If you feel like tinkering with your system, I recommend trying it with the speakers closer together (in particular, moving the left speaker away from the wall) and see what you think.

All best,
Joe

Love the Ovators I don’t think I’ve ever seen them before. Also good variety of art on the walls👍

Thank you, totally agree, but not possible unfortunately. The white thing on top of the wall is where the projection screen comes out of. Mentioned in another topic about having to compromise setup in a household situation.

Will hopefully change my humble system in 2021 into separates.

It seems your profile needs to be changed!

Very nice room friend.
May I ask what is the distance between the Ovators???

Yes, I’m also waiting on James to get some new ones made. Not before time, as mine are starting to look very nibbled around the edges.

However, your home made grilles look really good in the picture!

Thank you. 230cm between them. 270 from center to listening position. Not ideal, but best I can achieve

And a happy new year to you, neat looking system.:+1:

I am thinking of re-positioning mine.
Now they have 2,5m between them & 2,8m from listening position.
I am thinking to move them closer so they have 2m distance between them but I am a bit sceptical that it won’t work…
Any thoughts & recommendations accepted.

After making them I can see why the price seems a little steep, not easy at all cutting out the recess around the cabinet and the relief for the drivers let alone making them follow the profile curve . I managed all that very well until I tried to put the chamfer on the front, a job that sorted out the men from the boys, hats off to whoever makes those for either Naim or TomTom

Thanks

I used to have an AV2 with a Nap 175 (?), it sounded fantastic even with some relatively cheap speakers (B&W), I would still had it now had it not broke, I don’t think I’ve ever heard a better sounding AV amp . I wish we had a slightly bigger room to make it possible to actually site better speakers like yours in, I wouldn’t hesitate buying another decent AV set up if only for my wife to be able to understand dialogue in some programs/films.

Gosh, been a good while since I’ve seen shelves like that. We had them in the 1970s and 80s. You clicked them up to put where you wanted within the slots and held by the bracket. Nice.
