There was a vitsoe topic a while ago. Topic is now closed, but that’s a really nice looking well designed support system.
I think you can still buy a version of them in any diy shop. As @Ardbeg10y mentioned, the Vitsoe is very nice design/quality version of them. So is Strings (which is slightly different as it’s the sides that are fixed instead of the back).
The one in the picture is Ikea’s Algot system if I’m not mistaken.
Really great to see a pair of D15s with their copper phase plugs pointing out.
What are you driving them with nowadays? NDX-2/282/250?
Very nice set. Love the white Ovators and the white Isoblue lookey-like racks.

Hi Slamdam. How is the Vertere? I’m gonna purchase one this year and very interested to hear your thoughts? i love the looks and its well reviewed.
It’s great and looks even better in real I had a Rega P8 prior to the Vertere. Recommended.
You are not. Would rather have a Fraim of course. The String would do no good. I have that lovely system as well, but is not deep enough for audio, the not so charming Ikea system fits very well.
excellent. i had narrowed my choices to the Vertere, Rega P8 and the Thorens TD1600.
Out of interest, how stable are the TS5s on carpet? The later versions (Tmicro series ) have a more slimline base which I hear can be a little unstable on carpet - more suited to flat wooden/stone floors.
They are definitely not “stable” in the traditional HiFi sense. They have a completely flat base - no feet, no spikes and they move easily by hand on a thick carpet. However they show no signs of instability or rocking (no pun intended) when playing and no amount of volume would cause the aluminium enclosure to move rather than the speaker cones. Some time ago I experimented by placing them on heavy slate bases. There was no movement and no change to their sound. Are spikes for stability or de-coupling I wonder…
Hi @ColinP. Even with all that lot, dialogue in some films and tv dramas is so badly mixed (recessed and muffled) you can barely tell what’s been said. It’s all down to the production and what the producers intended I guess but it’s seems to have been a fad that’s lasted for too long now.
I don’t know enough to work out why they do this. Maybe someone else can explain.
Thanks, David! Good to hear from you, hope you still enjoy the 250DR. Did you update the upstream system since then? I’m doing fine and can’t wait for the cycling season to start. Well and for all the rest to start again as well
Stay safe and all the best regards, Peer
Yes, and the painting is wonderful.
Thankyou Mike, its by an artist called Lawrence Coulson.
Nice one. Dark mode activated.
Hi Peer,
Yes, I now have a NAC252/SCDR fed by an NDX + nDAC/555PS and an RP6. The NAP250DR fits in perfectly. My plan is to improve/update the streamer and look at a better TT this year. A NAP300 would be nice, but I don’t really need one (famous last words).
If the pandemic can be curbed this year, we will probably see the Hamburg Ramönes supporting der Moderne Mann at the Hafenklang if they can get a slot in November or December. They are not the most refined bands in the world, but old friends and good fun live. I’ll let you know the dates if and when they are announced.
David
Nice! How are your Dyn audio’s sounding?
Yes! with this kit, for now
