And yours!
Love my S40’s - they will stay in my system for a very long time!
Many thanks. Our carpet is not too deep, however, two young children might test their stability
I have spotted a pair for a very reasonable price. Time to ponder.
Hi. They are fairly light so being quite tall and slim could make them easy to knock over. I don’t think spikes would help in this respect unless you hammered them into the floorboards!
And what is ideal in terms of distance? Equilateral triangle?
I am still using an AV2 and NAP175 and they sound great.
I’m thinking of buying special 40s, but am still unsure. How long are you from the speakers and how was it to go from floor standing speakers to bookshelf speakers? I will have about 3.5 meter to speakers.
I auditioned the Special 40s and was impressed. They seem to need a lot of space from the rear and side walls however and that meant they weren’t for my room.
A bit of re-arrangement for 2021.
Got a 552 scratch I need to itch but needs to wait until later this year…

Gorgeous Kronos deck !
And very nice speakers.
I started at the top of this topic and ran out of Likes for the day! (I didn’t know there was a max, which I find kind of strange.) But I love all the systems and many of them look like what I want when I retire in a few years and design a house for my future classic muscle car collection and future collection of stereo systems. For now, I’m stuck in a small bedroom since I moved in with my elderly mom to help take care of her. My current bedroom system did see some upgrades in December, like adding a couple pair of Klipsch RP-600Ms and a subwoofer to my Klipsch Chorus speakers and upgrading from a 1990s Onkyo receiver to a Naim Uniti Atom. My stereo system also serves as a 2.1 home entertainment audio system. Later, I’ll probably use the RP-600Ms in a multi-channel home entertainment audio system.
Loved the stacked up speakers reminds of the type of system I used to put together when I was much younger (those poor neighbours).
Yeah, I was looking to shake things up (pun intended) and my mom, unfortunately, is hard of hearing, so I can listen it to it loud without her even hearing it. Only when I tested it at volume 80 and shook the walls did she hear it. Volume 50, it’s loud to me 7 feet away but she can’t hear it.
Lucky man that you can play it loud I love to play music loud.
Wonderful!
Looking for a better turntable this year as well
Please let me know when you will be coming to Hamburg - cheers!
Me too
Sound great too, but I’m a sucker for looks
Hi Keano16,
My speakers are at the long side of the listening room with about 40cm behind them. I’m 3,5 meters away from them. Initially I was a bit hesitating to go for the Dynaudio’s because of the space they should need behind them, maybe it’s also the fact that they are angled a bit towards the listening position, but they sound just right! These will really stay in my system for a long time!
Regarding the move from floorstanding to a standmount; my previous speakers were the Neat Motive SX2, with 76cm hight, these are not really big floorstanding speakers. The bass reflex port was located at the bottom of the cabinet which made placement a bit easier … but the Dynaudio’s better them in every single aspect, and they better should, because they cost almost double the amount of money …
In the end - and it has been said many times before - speakers should be auditioned at home
Hope this helps!
