The designers were probably thinking “how can we increase the width of the base and stop them toppling over - and maybe add a bit of interest at the same”. I suppose if you think they’re dreadful though, they must be dreadful.
I suppose people with more technical knowledge than I have thought this through (together with their marketing department)
As well as humour, you are becoming conversant with British tact and diplomacy, FR. HH, not so much.
Given that they’d likely be sharing space with a load of angle iron (mana) or similar box section steel (Target etc) when they were launched maybe they can be forgiven their industrial aesthetic but anyone who love the looks might be seeing with their ears.
I’ve never heard a pair so don’t have the benefit of that filter but I’ve found over the years that I can get used to just about anything in the looks department if there reason enough. If it works right it’ll look right.
Just back from a nice 5 mile walk, and fancied something nice & mellow with a glass of cold white wine.
This fits the ‘chilled’ bill pretty well I think - on LP
That is a fair comment, but the metal is in very small proportion to the rest of the loudspeaker, so hardly any industrial look as far as I am concerned.
I think they look elegant and sound great so that is all that matters. I’ve said it before and I will say it again - if they sounded good enough for Julian then they are certainly good enough for me!
I enjoy it daily, still learning. One of the reasons why I’m on this forum.
I have no choice if I want to stay in this private circle
Let’s avoid becoming political please.
Its a Krell kps 25………was about 33,000 euros back in the day, a-tour deforce of over engineering, like the cd555. Interesting comparison.
They look very special
FR - just for your English improvement - it is “drowned” (past tense of to drown)
“Drawn” is like making a picture with a pencil (past participle tense of to draw).
I admire your English - you do very well for a second language - I could not post on an Italian forum with any degree of confidence at present.
Thanks DrMark, and thanks also for correcting me.
Is there a Naim forum in Italia? If yes, you could practice your Italian.
We are on the Naim forum for Italia now!
There was no criticism in my post of Anglo/French etiquette. Merely trying to put a smile on FR’s face.
Mine was a vain attempt to humor.
I feel I am even more British as you both guys, because I understood you both, as humorous posts.
I for one enjoy your French take on a very British forum, the place wouldn’t be the same without you.
