Lovely.
Very nice and well future proofed there Geoff.
Nice photo… (and system)
Thank you @Mike_S Sounding great especially after the weekend fraim rebuild. Still wanting / waiting for a new model naim preamp to be released (I know nothing!) otherwise it will have to be a Supercap + 252 which I had in a previous life.
Very nice
If you check out his discography you will see he has countless releases including tons of live recordings and extra material now added to the re-releases of all albums up to about 2000. I have many of his albums but probably less than half of the total. I would say his last essential release was Kontinuum from 2007 which harks back to his 70’s output.
I agree that albums since then have all sounded very similar but that is ok if you like it as much as I do (better for background though rather than intensive listening)
I’ve a number of the earlier La Vie Electronique albums and all the remastered early albums.
I will give Kontinuum a try at some point…
What’s your opinion on the Sonus Fabers? How critical is positioning? I have always been attracted to them - they are very beautiful which matters to me but to my wife even more! I have just bought a Nova and am thinking of replacing my Kans
Hi, lounge finally redecorated and hifi in place !
Had kit for nearly a year but speaker cables only about 30 hrs so plenty of potential. Thoroughly enjoying our music !Regs chris
That left hand speaker is awfully close to the side wall. Can you move the whole system a foot or so to the right? You’ll be getting a big reflection issue at the moment.
There is a whole System Pics thread, which you should be adding to, rather than starting a new thread.
Hi, yes,I did consider this and had the speaker further away and gradually moved the speaker nearer the corner with hopefully no issues to my old ears.however,I will shuffle that speaker a bit to the right for further tests ! Thx chris
Ok this is my first time !
I take it that PSX-R goes OK under the TT?
If I end up with one ( for that read when,) mine would end up underneath my TT.
The Concerto’s are front ported so can be positioned near to the rear wall, a big bonus for a domestic situation (I don’t have a dedicated listening room). Mine are 200mm away from the wall and firing across the room with slight toe-in. I took them into the store for demo and the dealer was very impressed; he said I would need to spend £4-5K to better them! They are now able to realise their full potential with the 282/250DR driving them.
Yeah it’s fine. I tried it in all positions to check for hum. The glass and wood barriers between the PSXR2 and the LP12 provides good shielding.
Still wanting / waiting for a new model naim preamp to be released (I know nothing!)
OK tell us what you know. You are not fooling anybody…
You’ve definitely got the knack with this photography thing, and a very nice system too.
Thank you, Brown Owl. This forum [I speak as a sixty odd year old lawyer with all that entails] is down to people like you, sharing and helping in what is a big, wide world. I am very grateful and will look out for a pair
