System Pics 2021

What was your best sounding naim system before before the Hegel? The 82/SC/250?

Looks greatā€¦ what sub are you using, it looks usefully compact.

Thanks

Agreed here - my Q-box sounds like thereā€™s someone in there playing the drums at times.

Great listening room.

Iā€™m after a log-cabin for this Summer, can I ask which brand / model you have please? Yours looks to have two separate rooms which is what Iā€™m after for an office / listening space. TUIN is on my shortlist but Iā€™m yet to find a design that suits without getting a circular saw out

Apologies for the OT question.

Edit - just realised thatā€™s a mirror - doh !!!

Its a Paradigm monitor sub 10, from an AV system I used to have. Using it to fill in the bottom end of the PM1ā€™s a little as they are possibly a little small for this new room, as it opens up to the kitchen and dining below so the bass was a little lacking.

No worries, yes the mirror gets a few people, originally had them put in because my youngest daughter used to dance a lot and it doubled up as a dance studio, so the mirrors are just a leftover.

The company I used I could not praise enough, if you search for quick garden log cabins the company name is pretty similar. I went for a 6 x 4M ish one (was the largest you could go without needing to separate out rooms for additional bracing.)

I also went for double skin walls, after I got mine a mate got very similar one but went single wall, it adds about 75% to the cost (well its double the wood to be fair). However Iā€™ve seen glorified sheds at garden centres that cost more than these and they started by making ski chalets. They use some serious kiln dried staves, all interlinked etc.

Got power run out, heating, beer/water fridge, obvs the hi-fi and the gym, awesome family cave, few years ago because of young puppy we did christmas out there, was brilliant (we let the puppy in, just not alone with the christmas tree and lights etc,).

In keeping with the thread, the acoustics are awesome too

Looks better when the sun is out, but on a wet winters day, here you go.

No change in 2021 on the junior system in the house, which also happens to be the prettiest in my opinion.

Clean setup! What components does the setup consist of?

Its a Rega Planar 1, Project Stereo Box S amp, Acoustic Energy AE 100 speakers. The speakers sit on some little compressed foam platforms which slightly angles them back and provides great isolation. It sounds daft fun and really composed. James and Henry at TomTom put it all together and just sings.

@ARCHIE67, & @Adam1, :+1::+1:I am now suffering a bad case of cabin envy.

I have some Acoustic Energy AE100s on the end of my Nait 1 in the office. For Ā£200 these speakers really sing.

I donā€™t think we could survive without ours, especially this last year, such a haven

It has a Sony CD radio in it, (system pics  )

We use ours as a therapy room. It has a QB for music.

Just mine with wheelsā€¦and a Robertā€™s radio!

That is stunning

Think I need to spend some time tidying the cableā€¦, the lights are looking a bit shoddy.

Yeah, they are really good speakers, manage to have a real mature sound to them, not in a boring way, just sound much more expensive than they are.

Itā€™s the very small systems /or unusual that I often find appealing
