Thank you, decided against Fraim etc. for the reasons you mention.
Thank you, and to answer the questions above: Yes, they are Dali Epicon 6.
They sound great and are finished to a very high standard (mine are high gloss walnut), so decent WAF despite their size
More than a little. Not sure today by Dali used to keep a very close eye on SF.
I’ve still got a pair of Dali floorstanders in my office, enjoyable speakers you have there I’m sure, certainly nicer looking than mine
Ikon 6, if I’m not mistaken. Never owned a pair but a popular speaker from Dali back in the day.
a friend who bought my old system got a small set of Dali Bookshelf speakers and they sound very good
Touch screen and two fingers — magic!
LOL. Old school Windows, a big screen and then office 2010 photo editor.
Edit- and having a set of Dali s myself.
These were the front channels on my old 5.1 setup. I find it easy to buy speakers but challenging letting them go!
Now just 2 channel on my work setup and companions to my desk PMC’s
They still do a good job despite their age. They got some Isoacoustic Gaia’s as a new pair of shoes.
My very simple system, Rega P8/Hana ML, Cyrus Phono Signature/PSX-R, Supernait2 and ProAc Tablette 10 Signature’s (oh, and Auralic Aries Mini/Chord Qutest). Makes great music.
The toddler is away so time to test my speakers further apart. Much much better soundstage (obviously). Symphonies are now more enjoyable. Still need to convince the wife to remove the built it unit
I love uncomplicated simple systems that just make good music.
The cats tail is acting as a diffuser as well.
Cupboards are over rated anyway
Not hard to imagine that would be a big improvement. Good luck with your quest on the builtins!
Didn’t you say they are away?
Thanks badly. It is a massive plus for me.
Some years ago I’d built a Naim Fraim full of boxes and despite it sounding great I felt I never relaxed and listened to music because I was always worrying it wasn’t set up to its optimum. I’d be constantly checking the cables weren’t touching, weren’t under and stress, the boxes were stacked correctly etc.
Now I lower the needle and enjoy without a care in the word (for the time the music is playing ).
I know what you mean. The music gets lost.
I used to have the same digital system as you before changing the Aries Mini to a Bluesound Node (v3). I have now replaced the Node/Qutest with a Lumin D2 and could not be happier.
Let the music play on……
The Lumin looks interesting, is it wired? I really need wireless which rules out quite a few very well regarded streams/servers.
How did the NODE sound compared to the Auralic?
