All you need really is one of these, to have at hand when those retorts appear.
Coke ? !!!
“A Pinch Of Salt”. Close…
Awesome acoustic wall treatment, and might even win the Turner Prize to boot.
Thank You Very Much!
I will put power supply on top between speakers. And separate the amp and ndx2. Please only 20 lashes.
I’ve been giving some quiet thought to this and I now think I see where you are coming from.
What you are saying is this. Anyone who doesn’t buy the accessories that I personally approve of, such as spiked racks and speaker stands, special wires etc. is sadly unenlightened and is depriving themselves of the performance upgrades that these things can bring.
Anyone who buys the sort of accessories that I personally approve of is bang-on and a jolly good fellow.
Anyone who buys accessories that I personally think are a waste of time and money, such as for example cable risers, is a gullible fool buying rediculous crap.
In short the only people who have any sense or credibility are those that agree axactly with my own views.
Ah yes. Now I see!
Buggering about. On a tiled floor - tried them without spikes, then with spikes, then with spike cups.
Each stage was better than the preceding one. All in favour of buggering about, me.
Mike,
I generally dislike spikes but I use them on my Quadraspire SVT rack with Herbie’s Fat Gliders beneath them over a carpeted floor. I find that what is important is to break the spike interface with the floor by putting something (ie. spike cups) in between.
He can be a bit abrupt but he just says what he thinks. It is a discussion forum, we don’t have to agree all the time (isosacoustics user here so no allegiance to what he is saying.)
Are you new here?
A decent stand and good mains are tried and tested. In this system pics thread I think it’s great when people gently suggest for example that not stacking equipment directly on top of each other, or not having a turntable two centimetres from a turntable might not be a good idea. Those suggestions are righting a wrong. But when someone makes suggestions to ‘improve’ a perfectly well set up and optimised system via weird and wonderful tweaks that would make the system look stupid well, it’s just unnecessary.
When Sony made decent gear…
I seem to recall some people recommending placing a piece of carpet under the highly rated Musicworks G3 Ultra if sitting on a hard floor - righting a wrong or weird tweaking?
Axminster naturally.
